Every Season is Special at Faraway Pond
Swim, paddle, kayak, and fish in the pristine waters or just relax on the white sand beach or deck. Miles of walking trails through woods and meadows and an adjacent 300 acre State Forest with path to an actual (not functioning) gold mine offer an opportunity to fully experience all the wildlife, flowers and trees that make New Hampshire famous.
A favorite time in the Great North Woods Is Fall. Bright sun, blazing colors and crisp air make for an environment perfect for hikes, and cozy times by the fire. Pick apples in our our own organic orchard. Shop the farmers market and cook up an amazing meal from local produce. We have a wonderful food Co-op in nearby Littleton NH featuring artisan cheeses, local produce and the finest in baked goods and organic meats.
The air is clean and brisk, snow on the trails makes for great cross country skiing or snowshoeing and in winter the wildlife is really evident and the mountain views spectacular. Ice skate on the pond, or go ice fishing or sled down the hills to the orchard. The long quiet nights are a delight by the crackling fire. Curl up with a great mystery from the shelf or watch a movie. A fully stocked wine rack and complementary welcome bottle are there for your enjoyment. We can also offer a shopping service so your favorite staples are ready and waiting for you.
Once the ice melts, the peepers (tiny frogs) crank up -announcing that Spring is here. It takes a long time to see the leaves and flowers in the North Country, but when the sun rises after a frosty night, the sap also runs in our native maple trees. Stop by a local Maple Sugar Shack and experience the warm moist fog as it boils down to sugar.
