You are invited to stay at this rare and beautiful property that is used as a family retreat! It's a one of a kind, and there aren't many like it anywhere!
The 5 bedroom + bonus, 4-1/2 bath lodge sits on 1-1/3 acre adjacent to the shores of Hebgen Lake. The property has a vast lakefront with both natural sand & cobble beaches. The setting is stunning; perfect for a wedding or a private family gathering. The views of the surrounding mountains are breathtaking, and sunsets and sunrises are second to none. Wildlife abounds, with elk and deer coming to the lake to drink, and eagles, cranes, osprey, otters, and waterfowl of all kinds calling the lake their home.
There is a private marina that can accommodate motor boats, and there is a canoe for your use. Bring your own boats or rent motor boats and other water gear just down the road at Kirkwood Marina.
The home is also fabulous; it's a custom built retreat that the owners use as a family getaway. They are making it available for your use on a limited basis, so make your reservations early. The home is available for only one rental per month, with a 7 or 10 day minimum stay depending on the season.
The approximately 4000 square foot home can sleep up to 10 people in king and queen beds in the bedrooms, and there are extra options for 2 more on queen trundle beds and sofa-sleeper couches in the office/bonus room and 1st level family room. The home is two levels, with the main level having large decks off of the spacious kitchen, which is open to the dining room and living room. The main level is accessible from the driveway via a short flight of stairs or from a paved ramp. These rooms all have huge windows and spectacular views of the lake.
On the main level there are two master bedrooms, each with their own private bathroom, plus a third half-bath. The first Master Bedroom is larger, with a private deck and a beautiful full bath. This bathroom has a luxurious jetted tub and separate walk in shower. The second Master Bedroom has beautiful views and a spacious private bathroom with ADA compliant bathroom facilities. This bathroom has a large walk-in shower and a separate bathtub. The office/bonus room is also here, as is a 1/2 bath accessible from a communal hallway.
There is a fabulous large screened in porch off of the west side of the house which is a favored spot to watch the sunset without the bugs, and also a great place to spend time enjoying the lake breeze without the sun. It's a fun place to "camp out" for the adventurous kids in the group! The decks and porches make the outdoors easily and comfortable accessible and are a great place to enjoy the fabulous views and spend time with family.
The lower level and its bedrooms and family room is accessed via a flight of stairs descending from the main level. The lower level has a large family room with amazing views and a big screen TV. Here you'll also find three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms share a full bath and one of has it's own private full bath. The laundry room is also here, and a ground level porch is accessible from the family room.
During summer, the lower level can also be accessed without using the stairs by going around the south side of the house and entering via the porch off of the family room, but it requires traveling through the grass down a slight grade in the yard. There is an elevator shaft in the home and there are plans to install a freight elevator in the future, but it is not available just yet. We'll update the listing when it gets closer to completion.

The property is easy to find but in a private location just off of Hwy 287 about 20 minutes/17 miles/27km to the north and west of the town of West Yellowstone, MT, and the western entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The town has two grocery stores and numerous attractions of its own. There are also several restaurants and bars within 2 - 10 miles from the home along the north shore of Hebgen Lake.
The home sits in an area that has very little private land and provides easy access to some of the best outdoor recreation sites in the area, and arguably anywhere on earth. Yellowstone Park is only 17 miles away, but even closer (less than 5mi/8km at most) are: hiking (Cabin Creek, Red Canyon, Avalanche Creek/Lk, Kirkwood, Sheep Mtn/Lk, and many more), fishing (Hebgen Lake, Madison River, Grayling Creek, Madison Valley creeks, and more), cross-country skiing (Refuge Point trails, Beaver Creek, Red Canyon, and the world famous groomed Rendezvous Trails in West Yellowstone), backcountry downhill skiing (Mt Trapper, Mt Hebgen, many, many others right out the door), snowmobiling (frozen Hebgen lake access to groomed trail system, Red Canyon/Skyline, Denny Crk Rd/Lionshead-Sheep, Horse Butte/Madison trails, and more), hunting (so much with easy access and great local guides), and boating (Hebgen Lk out the door with a canoe and sheltered bay, which is a huge pristine trout filled lake with few people on it, great water skiing and swimming too) Quake lake on 5 miles away, Henry's Lake 20 miles).
