Later this year Kia Motors will release the Soul EV 2015. Prior to this car being placed on the market, Kia will be setting stations up with fast chargers for these cars. There are Level I chargers which take about twenty-four hours to charge the car if the battery is depleted. Then there will be Level II chargers, which will charge the batteries in a little over thirty minutes.

Kia already has over 198 charging stations set up in California and they are going to add another seventeen. They are trying to make it easier for the owners of the eco-friendly electric car, the Kia Soul EV 2015 to be able to get the car charged when they need it. Kia Motors and Greenlots are teaming up to help California to become eco-friendly.

Kia Motors states that they will also have some dealerships across the state of California that will have charging stations for the Soul EV 2015 also. They will announce them when it gets closer to the time that the Soul EV car will be released and on the market. Kia Motors has partnered with many companies to try and gear up quickly for the release of the Soul EV. They are using Greenlots, Bosch, Leviton, and Aerovironment to be able to accommodate Californians with more Level II charging stations.

Kia Motors is going to partner with the KMA’s EV charging plan for California owners. This plan provides flexibility and a lot of support for the owners of the Kia Soul EV 2015. Charging stations will also be able to be installed in residences and use 120-volt electricity to charge the car. It will use 120 volts instead of the 240 volts that is used by the Level II fast charging stations.

Kia has though of pretty much everything, from building an eco-friendly electric car, to giving Californians access throughout California to charging stations, to giving them a Kia Charge Up Card for the charging stations. This card will give the owner all the access they need to use the Greenlots “Sky” system.

Kia even has an app, which makes it easier for the owner of a Soul EV to find a charging station within California. Also on the dashboard there is a gauge, which tells how many more miles the battery, will last instead of how much gas is left in the tank. On the dashboard also is a screen where the owner will be able to see the app for where the charging stations are within the area that they are traveling.

Seems like Kia Motors has thought of everything. They have been able to provide California with an eco-friendly car, and have been able to set up charging stations to keep the cars running while away from home. They have even provided the owners with special cards to be able to charge the cars batter when necessary. Now they will need to be able to install a charging station in each of the homes of the people in California who buy these Soul EV 2015 cars.
