We have some summertime news at the Mill House! We've recently upgraded the pool to a salt water system and it is AMAZING, so good for your skin and so very refreshing. This summer the fireflies hover on the lawn and in the trees - its hard to tell if they are stars or fireflies! And the wonderful Florencia from Argentina who lives in a nearby guest cottage is available to cater breakfast quiches or empanadas, delivered hot from the oven... @argiedeli for more info. Smores made around the bonfire on the front lawn have been enormously popular this summer, as are competitive frisbee games in the evenings. Slaters Run Winery has opened a beautiful new tasting room and deck at the Upperville winery, AND a final update on summer developments - Upperville Farm and Feed has opened across the street and features fresh, local produce and farm eggs, and will soon source local meats. So much happening in the tiny village of Upperville!

Located on the west end of the village of Upperville, the Mill House is the perfect get away for families, business retreats, or recharging. Its a place for board games or board meetings, elegant dinners in front of the fire, or picnics down by Pantherskin Creek, which runs through the property. Sky Meadows State Park is 1,860 acres and the site of a historic farm, 5 miles from the Mill House. It offers hiking, fishing and special events. Look for the amateur astronomer's events several times during the summer with dozens of telescopes and astronomers inviting the guests to look at planets and stars. Many wineries are nearby - Slater Run, the closest, within a mile. Looking for polo on Saturday nights? Head to Twilight Polo at Great Meadow, 20 minutes away. Sunday afternoon polo is fun for everyone at Banbury Cross in Aldie.
Or stay at the Mill House and swim in the cool pool in the remains of the old mill, which was burned during the civil war. Head down the street for dinner at Hunter's Head Tavern, or 10 minutes up on the mountain at the Ashby Inn.
if you're looking to live in a bit of history, the Mill House is perfect. Sit at the pool at night and listen to the creek behind you. Take a deep breath and look at the stars.
