Piperdam House is within an hour’s drive of over fifty of the country’s best golf courses, including the championship courses of St Andrews, Carnoustie and Gleneagles. For families with children there are plenty of activities in Dundee itself, from country parks at Clatto and Camperdown, to ice skating, cinema, leisure pool and the HMS Discovery and the acclaimed V&A Dundee Design Museum. St Andrews, Perth and the East Neuk of Fife are all well worth a visit, each with their own attractions, or alternatively, indulge in some retail therapy in Dundee’s shopping centres. There are many quaint villages and towns strung out on the coast from Broughty Ferry to Montrose, which both have sandy beaches and local produce, notably Smokies from Arbroath. An ideal touring base, Scone Palace near Perth and Glamis castles are nearby, and there is quick and easy access to Royal Deeside and the Scottish Highlands beyond.
