The Old Sweet Shop is a charmingly restored original fisherman’s cottage in a fabulous location minutes from the thriving town centre with its independent boutique shops, cafes, pubs with live music and many art galleries. It is also a perfect holiday cottage for families, being minutes from the harbour and the beach, with opportunities for crabbing, swimming and a variety of watersports.
The cottage is over three floors with three bedrooms, all beautifully decorated in a nautical style. Parents need to take care of toddlers and young children on the steep stairs, but this is a popular feature on these original cottages.
As the cottage was the towns old sweet shop (hence the name!) guests can help themselves to a selection of sweets, with metal scoops and paper bags provided to complete the experience.
The cottage garden is fully enclosed, so it is nice and safe for dogs. The main beaches of Whitstable are dog friendly all year round. Nicely sheltered, the garden is a lovely place to relax, sit and enjoy yourself after a busy day at the beach.
