Hemmel Retreat is the former stables at Westfield… a beautiful barn
conversion with exposed roof trusses, stone walls and wood burning
stove. Hemmel Retreat offers outstanding holiday accommodation for four
guests looking for a touch of luxury in a lovely seaside location.
Interiors are sociable and spacious with open plan living, perfect for
a coastal escape at any time of year… the underfloor heating keeps the
property cosy whatever the season.
This spacious cottage has a wonderful courtyard and garden with
uninterrupted sea views towards the Farne Islands. It’s just a short
walk into the village of Seahouses for local shops, pubs and cafes and
the beach is within easy reach too… about a mile away.
Hemmel Retreat is a great base for exploring this beautiful area -
visit the Farne Islands to observe the seabirds and the colony of Grey
Seals. 3 miles north is the impressive Bamburgh Castle which clings to
a rocky outcrop, and it’s just 5 miles to Holy Island and Lindisfarne
(accessible at low tide along the causeway). Just south of Seahouses is
Beadnell Bay with its unique west facing harbour for sailing,
windsurfing and scuba diving. Good golfing (0,.5 miles), fishing and
horse riding available locally.
