Converted to a very high standard, with floor-to-ceiling windows that maximise the breathtaking views over Exeter, surrounding countryside and down as far as the coast. The owners’, who live on site, have thought of everything to make your stay a memorable one, with underfloor heating, a cosy wood burner to relax beside on a chilly evening, Egyptian cotton bed linen and sliding doors that lead to a decked area where you can enjoy an al fresco supper and take in the views. These two detached, single-storey properties really will take some beating when it comes to the perfect holiday property.
Dartmoor and the popular south coast is within easy reach, and the rural countryside of East Devon is on the doorstep, making The Dairy and Piglet Cottage an ideal base from which to explore some of Devon’s finest scenery. The city of Exeter is just 2 miles away, with its university and famous 13th-century cathedral. Killerton House has a glorious landscaped garden which is surrounded by parkland, a fine 18th-century house with renowned historical fashion collections, and wide open parkland with a garden full of trees from around the globe.
There are many lovely walks and bridle paths to enjoy through the owners’ 50-acres of pasture and woodland. One walk will take you to the pretty village of Newton St Cyres with its cosy gastro pub and brewery with a covered balcony, tiered garden and a menu of global food. Golf, fishing and riding are available locally, and for family fun, Crealy Great Adventure Park and Go Ape Forest Adventure are close by. From sleepy market towns to miles and miles of coastline, which is much loved by surfers, swimmers, families and walkers, this stunning location has something for everyone. Beach 17 miles.
