These two delightful properties offer flexible accommodation, and are perfect for an extended family or friends holidaying together. There are unrivalled on-site facilities for the use of guests occupying these two lovely properties.
Trewenna (ref UKC2080) is semi-detached and Scrumpy (ref UKC2079) is detached; both are spacious and comfortable self-catering holiday cottages sitting in pretty, well-stocked grounds and gardens. Large doors lead from the swimming pool on to the sheltered patio/sun terrace, which has ample comfortable sun loungers, and both cottages have private patios with table and chairs/benches. They lie on Newton Farm with its riding stables/equestrian centre, yet retain peace and privacy. On-site facilities include snooker, pool, dartboard, gym and studio, sauna and a large sports hall offering basketball, tennis, badminton, football and volleyball. There is also table tennis, a children’s play area, outdoor grass football and a summerhouse. Completing the facilities are a large swimming pool and a hot tub which guests can hire (at cost).
This location is the ideal spot for exploring the unspoilt Lizard Peninsula, the most southerly point of the British mainland, which has its own unique landscape and stunning scenery. Mullion is just a 10-minute walk away and has shops, art galleries, a family pub serving good food, an historic church and a famous chocolate factory. The Lizard Lighthouse & Heritage Centre opens daily, and is well worth a visit.
The area is famous for its beautiful beaches nearby: Poldhu Cove (just under a mile), Polurrian Cove, Church Cove, Kynance Cove, Kennack Sands and the quaint village and cove at Cadgwith. There is also a great choice of local attractions within an easy drive, including the Gweek Seal Sanctuary, the family theme park of Flambards, Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose with public viewing enclosure, Goonhilly Earth Station, National Trust properties, sub-tropical gardens and the magical Helford River and creeks, made famous by Daphne du Maurier’s novel, ‘Frenchman’s Creek’. The busy port of Falmouth, home of the National Maritime Museum, can be reached within 30 minutes and has shops, restaurants, cafés, prestigious marinas and a full calendar of events, including sailing, music and food festivals throughout the year. There is a golf course less than a mile away, as well as access to the South West Coastal Path. Birdwatching is popular here, or try your hand at scuba diving at Porthallow, near St Keverne. Whatever the weather or time of year, you certainly won’t be bored during your stay at Newton Farm! Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
