The Gallery is situated on Newcomen Road a short walk from Dartmouth town centre and the historic Bayards Cove. The Gallery is in a quiet spot set back from the road, and enjoys lovely river views from the living room, 'Gallery' snug in the eves and impressive decked garden. Dogs are welcome at The Gallery and a parking permit is included for the main car park in town. Exclusively Marketed by Dart Valley Cottages.
There are a number of steep steps up to the house from the road, the front door opens into a small hall with doors to the kitchen and living room and staircase leading up and down. Ahead is the light and spacious, comfortably furnished living room. At one end of the lounge area has sofas and armchairs set around the wood burner. TV with SKY. At the opposite end is the dining area with table and chairs and a lovely corner window with fabulous river views. The kitchen is also on this floor, to the left as you enter the property. It is well equipped with oven and hob, dishwasher and washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave.
First Floor: The stairs lead down from the entrance to 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a super king size bed and en suite shower room with shower, toilet and basin. The second bedroom has a king size bed, also on this level is a toilet and basin.
Ground Floor: Narrow stairs lead down to a twin bedroom and a large bathroom with bath, separate shower, toilet and basin.
Third Floor: The stairs from the entrance hall lead up to a cosy snug set into the eaves (low head height), with exposed timbers and roof windows overlooking the river, an ideal spot for a quiet read or to enjoy the boats making their way up and down the river.
Outside: From the front door there is a short path and a few steps up to the garden at the rear. A delightful space with a large deck overlooking the river. A great place to sit and watch the world go by. Garden furniture and barbecue.
Please note there are a number of steep steps up to the front door
Whilst there is no parking on site you can pull up on the road to unload, an annual pass is provided for the Mayors Avenue Car Park.
The car park pass is valid across the South Hams for use in long stay council run car parks, so as well as Dartmouth you can park for free at Slapton, Totnes, Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Bigbury, Ivybridge and Modbury.
A flight of steps opposite the property will take you down to the river at Bayards Cove, this historic cobbled quayside was where The Mayflower stopped before departing for it's journey to the Americas. At the end of Bayards Cove is the historic ruins of one of Dartmouth's sea defences and at the other end you will find The Dartmouth Arms perfect for enjoying a drink on the waters edge and some good pub food. On the south embankment you will find a number of pubs and restaurants including The Seahorse and the Rockfish owned by celebrity chef Mitch Tonks as well as the Bayards Inn and Bellini's Bar. Heading up the hill from the apartment you will soon pick up the South West Coast Path and Dartmouth Castle.
In the peak season, May, June, July and August we need to keep to Friday changeovers and a minimum stay of 7 nights. However, please do contact us with any requests you may have and we will accommodate if possible.
