MALLOW LODGE, Bamburgh - sleeps 4+4 in 3 bedrooms

Evocative of the natural beauty of Scandinavian design, this fantastic lodge forms part of a unique development within an oh-so-striking setting - built on the site of a former whinstone quarry, mid way between the stunning sands of Budle Bay and Bamburgh, one of the most popular beach destinations in England.

Just two miles from Bamburgh and miles of vast golden sands
With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, it will suit both families and couples alike, and with dogs welcome too, it really is tailor made for a perfect coastal getaway. A key feature of the lodge is its modernist cutting edge design, characterised by two vast glass windows in brushed powder grey, a perfect complement to the rugged surrounding landscape.

Inside, the look is wonderfully inviting, comprising a light filled open-plan living space with a fireplace dividing the sitting room space and kitchen/dining area. Three large sofas mean there’s plenty of relaxation room while a wood burner will add a certain cosy ambience on those cooler days when curling up with a good book feels like a good plan!

The smart kitchen with integrated units is well equipped with all the essentials while the dining area seats eight comfortably. Large bi-folding doors open up onto a south-facing deck giving plenty of dining options when the sun starts to shine.

There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, including a master bedroom with en-suite shower room, and one with full size double bunk beds which are ideal for children but equally suitable for adults. This lodge also benefits from a bath for those who luxuriate in a good soak.

A short walk through the woodland will take you up to the quarry top with a viewing platform which offers incredible views towards Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands beyond.


GROUND FLOOR
Large utility/boot room with hanging space for outdoor wear.

Open plan sitting room/dining kitchen comprising:

Sitting room with three double sofas offering generous seating, wood burning stove. Large wall mounted Smart TV with Freesat. Separate DVD player with a selection of DVDs. Digital radio with docking station. Selection of games and books. There are binoculars which guests are welcome to use.

Kitchen with induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer. A microwave and washing machine with dryer sits in the utility room. Dining area with seating for eight. Large bi-folding door open out onto the deck.

Bedroom one with 5’ king size bed, side tables, wardrobe with hanging and drawer space.

En-suite bathroom with large shower with rainforest head, heated towel rail, basin and WC. Underfloor heating.

Bedroom two with 5’ king size bed, side tables, wardrobe with hanging and drawer space.

Family bathroom with bath with shower over, heated towel rail, basin and WC. Underfloor heating.

Bedroom three - with two sets of full size 3' bunks sleeping four. Small chest of drawers.

OUTSIDE
The lodge sits on a site in a development of twelve other properties, all in the same style and in private ownership. The lodge benefits from a south-facing decked terrace to the rear with garden furniture and barbecue. Please note that the decked area is not enclosed and the wider site is a communal space.

Guests should note that a second phase of ten lodges is being developed on an adjoining site which is separated by a bank at the foot of the quarry. All heavy construction work is complete. This can be seen on the access road when entering Brada but is not visible from Mallow Lodge.

PARKING
There is designated private parking for two vehicles to the front of the property.

CHILDREN & BABIES
A travel cot and highchair can be provided on request.

Guests are permitted to walk to the top of the quarry where there is a viewing point, however it is important to note that this area is unfenced. Guests do so at their own risk and children will require careful supervision.

DOGS
Two dogs are permitted at a charge of £20 per dog but should be kept to the utility/boot room until clean and dry and for sleeping. They must be kept out of the bedrooms and off the furniture. The outside decked area is unfenced therefore dogs must be supervised and kept on leads.

GUEST AMENITIES
High quality linen and towels. A hairdryer is provided in the two double bedrooms. Guest toiletries are supplied.

WI-FI & MOBILE COVERAGE
The lodge benefits from fast fibre broadband. Mobile reception is poor within the property but the signal improves outside. EE provides the best signal. A landline is provided for incoming and emergency calls.

HEATING
Electric heating throughout the property which is thermostatically controlled. Underfloor heating in the bathrooms. Wood burning stove in the sitting room with initial supply of logs provided.

GUEST PRIVACY
