History of the barns
Dating back to 1334 the old quarry barn in the woods on our land housed the Quarry master and the ponies and carts for the old slate stone quarry which supplied all the stone for the farm buildings and houses in Camelford.
Owl's roost, Piglet s and the Milking parlour have been newly renovated in June 2017. Owl s roost twin bedroom use to be storage for the carts and the horses were stabled downstairs. Piglet s historically listed 19th century barn conversion. The dining room and lounge were walled cubicles where the pigs lived. The kitchen was separate and that was used to store the cart. Upstairs was used to store the feed and hay. Milking parlour historically listed 18th century barn conversion. This was where the cows were milked by hand.Get the full listing »
