One Church Cottage is a beautiful and quaint property which sleeps six guests, in three bedrooms, with two spacious bathrooms. Finished to a high standard, this charming property boasts an abundance of character features including exposed beams, exposed Cotswold stone walls and a stunning inglenook fireplace complete with wood burning stove. These features are complemented by modern facilities such as wireless internet access, two TVs and a Sonos speaker. There is a picturesque enclosed garden at the rear and free on-street parking is readily available throughout the village.
One Church Cottage is located in the peaceful and unspoilt village of Todenham, a linear village with a Grade I listed 14th century church and home to Todenham Manor Farm Shop, stocking local and sustainable produce. Surrounded by breathtaking countryside, there are many walks and cycle routes on its doorstep to discover, and just a short drive away are the megalithic Rollright Stones, a prehistoric stone circle dating back over 5,000 years.
Todenham is conveniently located three miles away from the bustling market town of Moreton-in-Marsh, a thriving town with a wide range of shops, pubs and eateries, and a direct train line to London. The popular towns and villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, Shipston-on-Stour, Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water are all easily accessible, as are the nearby tourist attractions of Batsford Aboretum and the award-winning Cotswolds Distillery. Further afield destinations such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Blenheim Palace and Oxford are within easy reach for day trips.
Booking and payment
Character Cottages is a marketing agency and we do not own any of the cottages listed on our website. We manage a proportion of cottages within our portfolio and the remaining properties are managed by a third party property manager or the property owner – your pre-arrival email will contain confirmation and contact details for your property manager. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement directly between you and the property owner. For bookings commencing more than 10 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The balance payment is then due 10 weeks prior to arrival. All payments are made subject to the cancellation policy set out in the standard Booking Conditions.
Security deposits are not required (please note that guests are still liable for any damage or additional cleaning required as a result of their actions).
The maximum occupancy of the property is six guests at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than six guests at the property.
Infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions, the occupancy figure may only be exceeded by up to two additional infants.
Regrettably, pets are not accepted.
Bed linen and towels
Bed linen and towels are provided for guests.
Arrival and departure times
Arrival time is after 3pm and departure time is by 10am. Access is via a key safe, therefore it does not matter if you are arriving late at night.

Family bathroom: Roll top bath with handheld shower attachment, toilet and wash basin

Heating, fuel and logs
The property has an oil fired central heating system.
Electricity and oil are included in the rental price. An initial basket of logs is provided for the wood burning stove and further logs are provided under a fair usage policy (there is an honesty box for contributions towards the cost of additional logs used).
The property has free wireless internet access, two TVs, one with Netflix only and the other a Smart TV with Netflix subscription, and a Sonos speaker.
A telephone is also provided, for incoming calls only.
Mobile phone reception is generally OK.
Free on-street parking is available close to the property and throughout the village.
Where a letting exceeds nine nights, a mid-stay clean, bed linen and towel change may be included in the price. Please check with us to confirm. Additional housekeeping services may be available on request.
Child friendly facilities
A travel cot (without linen) and high chair are provided.
Though enclosed, children should be supervised when in the garden as there is a low stone wall at the rear with a drop down into the neighbours' grounds.
A small quantity of initial consumables is provided for your convenience (eg. tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap, washing powder, toilet rolls, etc), however, you should not expect the quantity of these provisions to be sufficient for the duration of your stay.
Accessibility, health and safety
This is an old property with many character features including steep stairs and restricted head height in some places, both of which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, or carrying babies, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency.
Two steps from the front door lead directly onto the road, so guests should be careful of passing cars when leaving the property.
The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk.
No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property.
Corporate and commercial bookings
Unfortunately, this property does not accept corporate, work related or commercial bookings of any kind.
The garden is regularly maintained by a professional gardening service and although this work is generally carried out when the property is vacant, the gardener may need to carry out work whilst the property is occupied. If you require further information, please don't hesitate to contact us.
