There are many places to visit nearby, including the popular golden stretch of sandy beach at West Wittering, less than a 10-minute drive, or Chichester in the opposite direction, with its ornate cathedral, Festival Theatre, leisure facilities and racecourses at Goodwood and Fontwell. For further sightseeing opportunities, the nearby train station offers services to London, which can be reached in approximately 1½ hours. Slightly further afield are Petworth House, Parham House, Goodwood House, Arundel Castle, West Dean Gardens, Uppark House, Denmans Garden and Stansted Park. Marwell Zoo with Peppa Pig World makes for a fantastic family day out, as well as the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, ‘Explosion’ Museum of Naval Firepower, HMS Rose and HMS Victory at Southampton and Portsmouth, both renowned for their large shopping outlets and plenty of entertainment. From here, ferry trips are available to the Isle of Wight. Beach 5 miles. Shop 250 yards, pub ½ mile, restaurant 200 yards.
