Newly refitted for 2018, this traditional Victorian 2-bed house in Cambridge is ready to welcome friends, family and work colleagues who need somewhere smart and modern to stay while visiting the Cambridge area.
The unmistakable home from home feel of the place will make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. And you’ll soon see that we have gone to great lengths to make this house a great place to stay.
The lounge features a sofa and armchair that both give you a great view of the home’s flatscreen TV with over 70 channels that you can pause and rewind. It also gives you access to Netflix, so you don’t have to miss out on that series you’re following just because you’re away. And there’s a DVD player too, so no excuses for not having something to watch after a long day’s working, studying or sightseeing.
There’s also a workstation in the lounge, and it’s worth mentioning here that there’s a 90mb WiFi connection serving the house, so if you need to send/receive files to/from the office or just keep in touch with the folks back home, you’ve got speedy internet right here for you.
The home has a kitchen (of course) and this one is modern and spacious with all the appliances and implements you’ll need to self-cater while you’re in Cambridge. There’s also a dining table in here where you can gather for a meal, socialising or maybe to get some work done.
Both bedrooms are spacious, each with a double bed that’s presented to look and smart and welcoming. Just wait until you get under the covers and feel the comfort of the mattress!
There’s a modern bathroom on each of the home’s two floors, the upstairs one featuring a tub and shower, while downstairs there's a walk-in shower, handy for avoiding queues when everyone’s getting ready to go out.
Another space that’s well worth a mention is the garden. What a relaxing and welcoming place it is, with its patio furniture giving you a great chance to escape from it all, maybe with a quiet evening drink or two. Such a bonus to have private outside space - not something any Cambridge hotel will be able to give you. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that free parking is also available close to this 2 bed Cambridge house.
The house is located just a 5 minute car ride south of the centre of Cambridge, and it’s only a little further to Cambridge train station. You’ve probably done your own research ahead of your trip to Cambridge, but here’s a few places your hosts recommend. When it comes to eating out, try:
Fancy a drink or two? Recommended are:
The Cambridge Blue
The Cambridge Brew House
There are also plenty of places to eat and drink really near the house
What about things to do? When in Cambridge a punt on the river has to be done. And Scudamore's Quayside Punt Hire is recommended (TIP! You’ve got a better chance of staying dry if you punt without shoes!) Also, check out the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, The Fitzwilliam Museum and King's College Chapel.
For the essentials, there’s a Waitrose supermarket less than a ten minute walk from the house, so you can stock up on food and other must-haves easily enough.
As mentioned earlier, you’re less than ten minutes by car from Cambridge town centre and railway station. You can also catch a bus to and from these locations in about 20 minutes. If you’re getting here by car and using the free parking near the house, you'll find we’re really easy to get to, being just 5 minutes away from junction 11 of the M11 (now, that’s easy to remember!). It’s also easy to call cabs that will take you to where you need to go. Details of recommended cab firms will be provided.Get the full listing »
