Naro Moro Lodge is a detached cottage tucked away at the end of a small no-through lane, which leads directly onto a stunning sandy beach. Situated in the charming seaside village of Balintore, this attractive cottage has plenty of amenities right on the doorstep.
Accessed through its own pretty courtyard, steps lead up to the main open plan living space with a large three piece suite set around the welcoming wood burner. At the far end is a family-sized dining table. The kitchen area is very well-equipped with an American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas hob and electric oven. There is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer situated in the owner’s house next door, available for visitor’s use. The main double bedroom is located on the ground floor along with a shower room. Steep, open-tread spiral stairs lead up to a mezzanine landing with twin beds.
Just 50 yards away is Shandwick Bay, a stunning sandy beach with rock pools and wide sweeping sands. Balintore is one of several unspoilt ‘seaboard’ villages that straddle the lovely Easter Ross coastline. With pretty fishing harbours interspersed with sandy bays, they are completely unspoilt and provide idyllic seaside holidays without the crowds. Dolphins, seals, porpoises and a wide variety of seabirds are seen in the locality. Balintore village has a local store, pub, café and restaurant, all within a short walk. It is ideally located for exploring the whole of the Highland region and the renowned North Coast 500 route runs close by. The area is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise; cycling, hill walking, golf, fishing, horse riding, sailing, canoeing and surfing are all enjoyed locally. Within a short drive lies the oldest Royal Burgh of Scotland, Tain. Predominantly built of local mellow sandstone, it is a charming historic town and offers an excellent selection of small shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs, as well as a wide variety of sporting and recreational facilities including tennis courts, a golf club and bowling club, all of which are available to visitors.
