Islington is such a lively and varied part of London with tons to see and do - here are some suggestions!
You definitely won’t be short of delicious places to eat - Islington has become something of a destination for foodies with tons of new restaurants opening all the time and lots of long-standing institutions.
Trullo has been a local favourite for a while now - incredible Italian food with a laidback atmosphere, this place gets consistently glowing reviews. You will need to book.
Bellanger is another popular choice. This place is modelled on a French Brasserie and you can head there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner for classic French dishes and a terrace looking out over Islington Green.
Yida Sushi is a family-run Japanese restaurant - small and unassuming from the outside, this place is worth trying if sushi is your thing.
For pubs, start with The Lamb. This cosy local specialises in craft beers and proper ale. They don’t serve food but they do allow delivery from a nearby pizza place among others.
The Lord Clyde is another safe bet if you’re looking for beer. They also do terrific homemade bar snacks.
69 Colebrooke Row (also known as the ‘bar with no name’) is tucked away on a backstreet but it’s worth seeking out for their amazing cocktails. You’ll need to book if you want to get a seat.
Highbury Fields, Islington’s largest park is a perfect place for a picnic, or you could make use of their tennis or netball courts.
All the trendiest people head to Flashback Records, an independent record store. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable about every imaginable genre of music - you can spend hours browsing in here.
You are also just a hop, skip and a jump away from other exciting areas of the city, and the nearby tube means you can get around London with ease.
You are just a 10 minute walk away from two underground stations - Old Street and Angel. This connects you to the Northern Line. This gets you all over London in no time, including Leicester Square in under 20 minutes! For the nearest Santander bike rank: cross over the canal then take the first left onto Eagle Wharf Road.
