My apartment is located in an ex-movie studio used by Alfred Hitchcock. The building is next to Regents Canal which as amazing place for a walk to Regents Park to the West and Victoria Park to the East and Shoreditch Park which is an excellent spot for a picnic on a nice day.
The canal links a diverse cross-section of London’s attractions. From the colourful collection of narrowboats at Little Venice basin in Maida Vale, it runs on through Regent’s Park. Here it is overlooked by a vast aviary - part of London Zoo. In Camden, it passes the craft stalls and quirky clothing shops of the famous market, a centre for London’s alternative culture.
Walking along the Regent's Canal is always a pleasant experience. Step of the busy pavement, onto the towpath and recharge your batteries.
Located just a 15 minute walk away from Old Street Tube station, you’re staying right in the hub of hipster London. Served by the Northern Line, you have 24 hour service on the weekends!
Just next door is Shoreditch Grind, a bit of a landmark in the area and a great place to get a coffee, food, or go for drinks in the evening. The Shoreditch nightlife is vibrant and there are tons of restaurants and bars to discover. For great views of the city and delicious food, head to Boundary where there is an all-weather rooftop orangery, herb garden, robata grill and sofas. The menu is mediterranean. In the Shoreditch Town Hall, you’ll find Clove Club, a restaurant that has made a name for itself in London. Focussing on unusual and seasonal ingredients, this place is worth a visit.
The are tons of restaurants and bars to discover. So far, my favourite pizza is definitely Pizza East in Shoreditch, which you can reach though its graffiti art painted streets, or if you fancy some sushi, try Tenshi in Angel. It’s just amazing.
