(NOTE: Where possible owners try to operate a Saturday / Saturday calendar. Before making a reservation request via this site, please email us for more photos and information.) Approx 500 metres from centre of town. " Waterside " offers that rare combination of water's edge location AND large garden together with the added benefit of panoramic river views (upriver, downriver and right across to Kingswear). Extensive level garden (with lawn and beautiful plants) set right on the river Dart. Few Dartmouth properties can offer this rare mix of waterside setting, views and outside space. Short eight minute walk from the centre of town and close to restaurants and inns.
" Waterside " is the garden level, ground floor apartment of a river front property with great river views. The owners - a charming retired couple - live in the house above ' Waterside '. They truly know the meaning of "privacy" and as a guest, you will never see the owners - unless you fancy a chat or some local info! With double bed and large sofa bed this self-contained apartment sleeps three people (ideal for parents with a young child). From inside the apartment you can watch the boats drift past from the comfort of the sofa and the apartment has the benefit of central heating, WC, shower, Wifi, TV and washing machine. Bedlinen and towels are included in the price.
Please note, there are approximately 100 steps down from the road to the property - for those of you familiar with Dartmouth, it's similar to the steps in the narrow lanes linking South Town Road to Above Town, or Newcomen road to Above Town.
Note: Some previous reviews on HomeAway mention that the property felt a little 'tired'. We would say, not 'tired' but yes, there were a couple of older pieces of furniture / rugs etc which were not helping! We've removed / replaced a few items but the owners do want to ensure that they retain a homely feeling with timeless, classic furniture (not contemporary 'bling') so, if holidaymakers are looking for "shiny modern" this is probably not the right place, however if they're looking for homely, comfortable, exceptional location, lots of outside / garden space AND superb views... this is definitely the right place! And rest assured if there are any issues during your stay, the owners will do their utmost to address these ASAP. Look forward to seeing you!
Limited parking is allowed on South Town, unrestricted road parking out at the Castle or there is a Car Park in the town centre and at Park & Ride.
