Hello and welcome to our Truro listing. We've tried to answer all questions you might have here on the site including availability and rates. For availability, click on Calendar and for rates click on Get Quote. Of course we're glad to answer any questions that are unique to each person and circumstance.
Our Truro home is located off Castle Road, away from the noise and traffic of Route 6 at the end of a short, unpaved cul de sac. You will hear more from the birds and squirrels than the neighbors. Your views are of trees, sky, and our new mahogany deck. Corn Hill is the closest beach, at 1.2 miles. Your Truro beach sticker gives you access to Corn Hill on the Bayside and several other Atlantic beaches including the magnificent dunes and surf at Ballston and Longnook. There are National Seashore beaches nearby as well. Our property abuts 9 acres of woods with hiking trails.
We have used VRBO for 10 years, both as owners and renters, and as such we know a lot about what a good vacation home should be like. We always have an eye to improving things. You will not find anything broken or worn out. There is a well-stocked chef's kitchen and new, comfortable living room furniture, 2 flat screen televisions, wifi, 2 stereo systems, 2 gas fireplaces--just to name a few. The floors are all hardwood, pine or tile except for the smaller bedroom which is carpeted.
There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, one with a bathtub. 2 bedrooms are very large with walk in closets. One has a queen bed, a gas fireplace, a stereo with built in speakers, and a handmade cherry desk and chair. The other large bedroom has a king bed and an office setup. The third bedroom is smaller with a new pullout trundle bed. All the rooms have been carefully decorated with original art, photographs, and fabric pieces that we have collected over the years.
Truro is located between Provincetown and Wellfleet, close to the end of the Cape. Ptown is only 15 min away. Just around the corner (walking distance) is Savory, a year round restaurant, and open during the warm months you will find Highland Gardens, a produce market with good bread, cheeses, etc. Take the back road to the center of Truro to Jam's, a summertime favorite for groceries, fresh pastries, coffee and newspapers. Truro is also home to the Castle Arts Center which offers art and writing workshops, exhibits, and community events.
The classic Cape Cod shingle and clapboard sided house has been well maintained. The open, high-ceilinged kitchen and living area give a sense of spaciousness. Natural light is abundant through windows and skylights. There is a natural stone (gas) fireplace in the living room. Our dining table and chairs are by Green Design of Portland, Maine. For the hot weather we have four window air conditioners as well as ceiling fans.
Outdoors there is a large deck (due to be finished in November) with a gas grill, metal dining table with 6 chairs and a separate lower deck. A hot tub and new outdoor shower will be installed before the 2017 summer season as well.
This is a classic upside-down house. The rental space is the top floor while the lower level is a small year-round 1 bedroom rental. Access to the house is in back (the front door is at the back of the house). Go through the passageway at the top of the driveway, up the stairs and around to the back. You'll be amazed at the quiet and privacy.
Please note that for weekly summer rentals, the turnover day is Sunday which avoids the Saturday traffic jams coming up the Cape.Get the full listing »
