Port Clyde is one of those places in Maine where the hands of time just can’t seem to reach. The pace is slower and the day stretches out before you as you watch the ferry to Monhegan steam through the breath of fog hanging over the harbor in the early morning, passing Marshall Point Lighthouse and navigating through islands on the horizon.
Harborside is located down a private lane which opens onto some of the most pristine and beautiful waterfront this picturesque town has to offer.
Offering striking views of the inner harbor and the open ocean beyond from both the house, the front yard and the private 80-foot wharf that juts out into what is known locally as “Herring Gut”, a small little inlet where fish gather – making Harborside one of our perfect Maine vacation rentals to watch waterfowl hunt or to cast a line into the water yourself.
Harborside is just a quick 10 minute walk to the darling village of Port Clyde which is home to several restaurants, shops (try Village Ice Cream, you won’t be disappointed!), a well-stocked general store and art galleries. Kayak tours are offered in the village as well and the Laura B. Mail Boat to stunning Monhegan Island is always a fun day trip. Also, one of the area’s only sandy beach, Drift Inn, is a walk or a bike ride away…spend the day on the beach, come home and watch the sun go down with a glass of wine on your private wharf and then walk into town for dinner or dessert.
The house is new and modern and sits on almost 1 acre of land with mature trees and a well-maintained lawn. The property slopes gently to the water and owns 131 feet of water frontage.
The house has hardwood floors, 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms as well as a patio, an elevated deck off the living room and farmer’s porch, accented by Adirondack chairs. Guests also have use of a laundry room with a utility sink. The house has an open floor plan with a large kitchen, dining area and living room with a flat screen television.
The first floor master has a king bed and a private bath. Upstairs are three additional bedrooms; one with a twin, one with 2 twins and one with two double/queen beds and one twin.

While some properties do have internet connection that is more “modern”, many properties are in locations that only allow for DSL or satellite connection which can be slower and at the mercy of weather, whole network connectivity and the like.
Please be aware SummerMaine cannot guarantee the speed or accessibility of the internet at any of our properties during your stay.
Outages of any type are not the basis for a refund. We cannot guarantee repair times or repair person availability.
With that said, if you have certain needs regarding the internet, please let us know and we will indicate the properties providing the service that best meets your needs.
