Q. What are rules this Rental?
A. The minimal rental is 28 days. This code from MONROE county is strictly enforced. You will be required to sign a contract for a 28-day rental stay.
Q. What are the other strict house rules for this Rental?
A. Loose garbage is fined. You need to put recyclables in correct garbage containers. Mondays and Thursdays are garbage days. These are Monroe Waste Management laws and not ours. They will fine us and we will be forced to transfer the fines to your security deposit. Wednesday is recycling and yard waste day.
We as property owners take immense pride in keeping the home clean for our current and future guests. We do not charge excessive cleaning fees and keep our rental rates low and competitive for our guests. There is a leave as you found it policy except for linens. You will be charged a $120 fine plus $30/hr. for any cleaning that is more than 3hr cleaning.
Q. You indicate “leave it as you found policy except for linens”. What does this really mean. Do we have it to leave it spotless to get our security refund?
A. We have this policy to deter guests from trashing our home. We believe the majority of potential guests are respectful of other people’s property. As indicated we do not charge excessive cleaning fees, as other owners do. We have been cleaning the property ourselves and it does not usually take more than 3 hrs. to clean if the guests have left it reasonably clean. Our cleaning policy is as follows.
1. You do not need to make the beds or clean the linens. We request you to put the towels in washer before you leave and we will dry them out.
2. Do not leave dirty dishes in the sink. Please rinse dishes and run them through the dishwasher and put the dishes away.
3. Put the garbage in the container in a garbage bag. No loose garbage please
4. Leave the place including bathrooms reasonably clean (you do not need to do excessive cleaning.)
Q. What is the max size of the boat we can bring and what are your good neighbor policies?
A. Only 24-30 ft. boats are allowed. We do not guarantee tide or launch conditions. Renters can boat and fish at their own risk following national, state and county rules. Guests can enjoy themselves within property lot lines. There is no trespassing into neighboring lots. Quiet time is from 9 pm to 8am.
Q. When is check-in and check-out?
A. Check-in is at 3:00pm. Checkout is 10:00am. NO Early check-ins or late check-outs without prior permission.
Q. Do you allow pets or smoking?
A. Pets and smoking are NOT allowed.
Q. How close is the home to the Key West?
A. The home is approximately 20 miles away from Key West.
Q. How will I get the keys?
A., We have a lock box with a key pad to the left of the door. There are typically 2 online payments. First half during booking and 2nd half 21 days before you arrive. A code will be provided to you upon final payment.
Q. Are linens and towels provided or do I need to bring my own?
A. No need to bring your own linens and towels. We will be providing fresh linens and towels at the beginning of your stay.
Q. Is there a stocked kitchen? How close is the nearest store or shopping center?
A. Salt and pepper are provided as well as pots pans, dishes, coffee maker and other necessities to cook in the kitchen. Our town also has many restaurants to choose from.
Q. Is there internet access and cable?
A. Yes, we have high speed wireless internet throughout our entire house. Each room is equipped with cable and flat screen TV's.
Q. Is there daily housekeeping service?
A. There is NO daily housekeeping service. We keep our home very clean, and ask that you maintain this level of cleanliness during your stay.
Q. Is there air conditioning and washer -dryer? Is there a blow dryer and iron?
A. Yes, there is FULL air conditioning at the home. There is a washer-dryer in the garage. There is a blow dryer and iron in the cottage under the bathroom sink. There is an iron in the second bedroom closet.
Q. Is the home secluded?
A. The home is outside the hustle and bustle of town, located on a cul-de-sac. It is far from the main road and is very quiet. It is a residential neighborhood. Residents prefer it remain quiet.
Q. How many guests are allowed and how many vehicles are allowed?
A. A maximum of 6 guests are allowed and two vehicles are allowed at vacation rental properties as per Monroe County Rental Law. You are also allowed to park your boat.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty except for the PayPal and Credit Card transaction fees involved. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, or those that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and damage/reservation deposit. Credit card cancellations are subject to a 5% cancellation fee or $50 whichever is greater. PayPal cancellations are subject to a 3% cancellation fee or $50 whichever is greater.
