Leif Borthen (from 1911 to 1979) was a Norwegian journalist & author and student of art history at the Royal Frederick University. In 1932 he gave up these studies and head for Spain where he lived in a colony of artists which included Jacob Brinchmann and René Paul Gauguin. In 1933 he moved to Ibiza and settled in the remote village of Sant Vicent de sa Cala in the north east of Ibiza in a finca owned by the father of the owner of this villa.
At the outbreak of the Second World War, Borthen went to London, later to Argentina.

And as all do! Borthen returned to Sant Vicente, purchased a house and continued to write from there. In 1967 he published “The Road to San Vicente'. Borthen continued to write and live on the Cala until his death in 1979.

The villa has a stunning façade, with natural stone and white walls and has many unique architectural features.
Vista Bélvèdere has history in its heart and surroundings with the bright newness of a lovingly restored Ibicencan finca that has been decorated using natural materials throughout, ceramic floor tiles and solid oak furniture give an air of real quality and antique charm to this rustic Ibicencan villa.
This villa is built on one floor of 250 m2 with an open concept: spaciousness and light, and has many high quality features, including the solid walls that are more than one meter thick and give the perfect isolation against the high temperatures in the summer months, washed in white colours they retain the dappled texture of natural stone, plus for those that like to sleep in very cold temperatures, the villa has just installed 5 new airco units for 2019. One in the living room and the other 4 in the bedrooms.

The interiors display a rustic splendour with high ceilings and juniper and olive trunk beams.

The villa has a lovely designed lounge with comfortable seating for 8. In keeping with the rest of the house the lounge has rustic features including an cosy open fireplace and juniper and olive beamed ceiling.

The villa comprises of a fully fitted open kitchen with a spacious storeroom, ample equipment including a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine…etc.

The house has a large distributor that leads directly to the terrace, the kitchen, dining room and lounge give access to the bedrooms.
This Ibicencan villa has 4 Bedrooms + an extra room.
1) The master bedroom is situated in front of the pool and has a superb full en-suite bathroom with 500L hydro-massage Jacuzzi where you can refresh yourself in style +airco
2) The double bed guest bedroom is on the other side of the villa with a large wardrobe +airco
3) One twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom +airco
4) The Poolside twin bedroom in front of the pool with close access to the outside bathroom with shower +airco
+ EXTRA on request the 5th room with bunk bed to sleep 2 extra children under 12 years.
This property accommodates max. 10 PERSONS older than 24 months: of which a maximum of 8 PERSONS can be OLDER than 12 years.
_______The rental rates START from a booking for 1 person (booking-holder=the Tenant); (lowest rates)
_______ Every person after the first (1) person is counted as an additional Group Member even though the capacity of the Holidayhome is more than 1.
_______ If the Tenant adds additional Group Member/s: the online rental rate calculation by the bookingchannel increases automatically by 25€/night/ Group Member older than 24 months, or the low season rate as below explained if the bookingchannels allows different price settings per additional person.
_______ However, if any Group Member older than 24 months is added to the group AFTER completion of online reservation (subject to the permitted number), the additional Group Member rate will have to be paid upon arrival; between 25 May and 27 September rate is 25€/night/additional person and for low season & winter between 28 September and 24 May rate is 12€/night/additional person.

________For the 9th & 10th guest: 2 additional (bunk) beds in the 5th room can be requested only for children under 12 years
_______ only for infants below 24 months, mandatory baby cots have to be rented at the rate of 7€/night and optional high chairs may be rented at 3€/night, irrespective of the group size.
_______ Check-in and key collection must always be conducted by the Tenant, (the booking-holder).
_______ The above are in conformity with Article 87.9 of law 20/2015 and all Group Members agree to strictly abide by them.

Following is the pool terrace, where you can take a dip and cool always accompanied the greenery surrounding the house.
Beside the swimming pool sits an open air Barbecue area for lunches or dining 'al-fresco', so that you can stay out late into the warm evenings dining and entertaining in the most natural of surroundings admiring the beautiful view and enjoying some nice sunsets over the Ibiza hills.
• Cala de Sant Vicent, a wide sandy beach, only 7 min by car away. There's always room for your kids to play or just to lay down and enjoy the sun.
• Ses Caletes, one of those beaches hidden from mass tourism to enjoy sunbathing in full privacy. Only 1.4km away (as the crow flies) less than 5 min by car of your precious holiday time to find that peace and tranquillity you are looking for.
