Casa Abanico is a wonderful townhouse in the little village of Los Ventorros, Comares, Andalusia and can host up to 10 or 12 people, depending on the make-up of your group.
The house has an enormous terrace in the back, facing west, and has a super-sized pool with and outside kitchen/barbeque.
There is a bedroom with an en suite bathroom on the ground floor, which makes the house accessible for people who have difficulties climbing stairs. Upstairs there are three more bedrooms and a bathroom, and there is the option to sleep guests in the fully outfitted annex.
Los Ventorros is a small village on the road from Malaga to Comares, one of the famous white villages of the region. Comares was founded by the Moors and lies on top of a mountain, making it the highest town in the Axarquía. From the “Balcon de la Axarquía” in the center of Comares, you have breathtaking views over the hills to the Mediterranean. On the north side of Comares there is the largest zip line of Spain, spanning 436 meters.
The region, Axarquia, is known for its wonderful climate. In summer a breeze will often bring some cool air during the day and at the night, temperatures are more pleasant than in the direct coastal area.
Only about half an hour’s drive from the beaches and the nightlife of Torre del Mar, Los Ventorros is an oasis of tranquility. It also is ideally situated as a starting point for trips to Malaga, Granada, Cordoba and Sevilla.
The Montes de Malaga nature reserve is only about 15 km away and makes for great hiking and cycling.
In fact, the moment you step out the door you will find yourself in between fields of olive trees, almond trees and vineyards, and you can wander around with an ever changing scenery.
The road from Comares to Olias, in the direction of Malaga offers a serious challenge to cyclists. Because of this the Vuelta of Spain passes around the area almost yearly. The other reason to take this road are the magnificent view and the tranquility this route offers.
Comares has a small supermarket that stocks everything you need.
Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar have all the facilities you could wish for. There is a water park Aquavelis that opens during the summer, there is a big shopping center, El Ingenio with a cinema. There are beaches and lots of little shops and restaurants, as well as options to go sailing and diving. Along the coast there are other wonderful towns like Nerja and Torrox. Each with their own charm.
At the house we can arrange for a private chef, from simple to quite elaborate menus at reasonable prices. Luis, your host is a master on the guitar and is available to perform for you poolside, in a private setting. Either option can be booked on short term notice.
In short, the region, Los Ventorros, and casa Abanico have everything that will make a holliday a succes.
