El Calar de la Santa is a small hamlet in the northwest of the region of Murcia, nestled between mountains and riding three autonomous communities. The community of Murcia, in its term of Moratalla, the Andalusian community, being very close to the Puebla de Don Fadrique and the community of Castilla-La Mancha, bordering almost with Nerpio.
This privileged location makes the Calar de la Santa, an incomparable place in terms of beauty, and climatology.
In summer its temperature is cool and allows us to forget about that suffocating heat both day and night, being necessary almost always, a sleeve in the evenings of summer nights.
Similarly, in winter, its altitude (1.250 m.) Allows us to enjoy the much desired snow in the region and record several heavy snows throughout the winter season.
His landscapes fall into a tranquil beauty, quiet and often unique. In them coexist in the same way, springs of water that sprout both from the subsoil or from a rock, with caves and cave paintings, silent witnesses of the passage of time and history, as well as centuries-old junipers and unique flower species in the region.
It is common to see vultures and eagles that in the spring afternoons teach their eaglets, as well as in the mountain, mountain goats resting peacefully in their natural habitat.
El Calar de la Santa is different from other places because of its way of life. The town is welcoming and who gets to it, is always well received and begins to be part of it.
It retains the charm and freedom of our grandparents' villages. Of those people who "talk" on the street, who cast "la trasnochá" telling anecdotes and stories.
That lives out, enjoying life with others in its square, in its park. Those towns in which children can still run around and play all day in its streets without any danger.
If you come to Calar with children you will remember the time of your childhood, of everyone with everyone, of children on bicycles running through the town or playing hide and seek in its streets, without rush, without a schedule, without fear of anything.
In short, the Calar de la Santa is a unique place that offers a wide range of possibilities for adults and children. From good gastronomy to party for all in August, through hiking trails, guided tours of cave paintings and haven of peace and tranquility to rest.
