The apartment is located in the heart of Chueca, about 7 minutes to the Gran Vía on foot. The nearby areas of Malasaña and Alonso Martínez are also only about 10 to 15 minutes away by walking. The Chueca Metro is only 100 meters away and the Recoletos train station is only 400 meters. There is a paid parking lot on the street, although driving is not recommended since parking is difficult to find. Basically, this is a great place to explore the city from.
The area is full of bars, restaurants, terrace cafes, and the famous Mercado de San Anton is only 40 meters from the apartment. The Mercado has a regular grocery store in addition to a great rooftop restaurant, different food vendors, and gourmet meat and cheese counters.
Chueca is one of new cool areas of Madrid, with plenty of places to enjoy what makes Spain famous. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and cool stores. The area is especially well known for its shoe stores. This is also a historic area with plenty of ambiance and small bars and sidewalk cafes. This is a cosmopolitan, fashionable, gay-friendly area of Madrid.
