Enjoy a cozy glimpse of log cabin living at this two-bedroom South Fork home, a dog-friendly adventurer's escape with a shared hot tub, a gas grill and picnic area, and wonderful access to world-class hiking and skiing in Southwest Colorado's Weminuche Wilderness.
This cabin is located at the Foothills Lodge and Cabins in South Fork, a small mountain community at the meeting of the South Fork and Rio Grande Rivers. Find nearby access points to the legendary Continental Divide Trail, enjoy spectacular autumn colors in two million acres of national forest land, and ski and snowboard in 430 inches of annual snowfall at Wolf Creek Ski Area 19 miles south.
Step inside to find 850 square feet of living space, complete with wood-paneled walls, free WiFi, and a fireplace to warm your toes after a day on the trails. Curl up on the sofa with your dog at your feet (please note that a nightly pet fee applies), scroll through the channels on one of the two flatscreen TVs, and prepare dinner with your family in the kitchen or outside on the gas grill. There's even an outdoor picnic table, where you can sip hot cocoa and plan tomorrow's day trip into Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve 66 miles east.
You'll never forget the time you spend with your loved ones in South Fork - reserve your stay in Southwest Colorado today!
You must contact us to add more than one dog to the reservation, if allowed. $20 per dog, per night. If pets are allowed, the charge for the first dog will be included in the total cost listed.
Parking Notes: Please park in front or on the side of the unit, and don't block the main drive. There is additional parking around the area (between Lodge buildings 1-5 and the stone line near the gazebo with the hot tub, in front of the shop, alongside the office, along the backside of Elk Cabin toward the dumpster, behind the shed north of Moose Lodge, and east of Fox Cabin). There’s also a large, vacant restaurant parking lot; use it only south of the office and Lodge buildings 1-5.<br><br>
WINTER HAZARDS: Snow and ice can accumulate throughout the property. Along the north side of Lodge buildings 1-5 is one of these areas. Ice and snow build up all winter long until late March or early April. The roofs of the Lodge buildings are metal; snow and ice tend to give way in large sheets all at once, so please be aware of the edge of the roof and where your vehicle is parked.
Guest Entry Instructions: This rental utilizes an E-lock, a digital lock that requires an unique code to enter. This code is reset after each guest's stay.
Damage Waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee (“Management”), plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.)
The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
