This serene and beautiful park like setting is just a few minutes from high energy Princeton University and the busy Route 1 business corridor.
Nearby Princeton Airport’s charter helicopter service makes traveling from New York or Philadelphia just a fifteen minute trip. Train from both cities is about one hour and the station is just fifteen minutes away. By car, it’s a one hour drive from both cities, assuming no traffic back-up coming out of New York.
NEW, FRESH, CLEAN, ON POINT
One concern about staying in a home for the first time is the sense of 'newness' about the home - and just how new and fresh is what one will see, feel and touch: Park House feels new because it has been so lightly used by the owner since its complete interior renovation and has been meticulously maintained. Moreover, many of the furnishings and fixtures actually are new, meaning new as of 10-18. The home is thoroughly cleaned by a professional service just before one’s arrival. Everything works and works well. And if something should require service during a visit, it will be resolved efficiently.
ARCHITECTURE and DESIGN
Park House is an architectural masterpiece of interior design. And that is why Park House is never a bore. The interior layout is what makes Park House a fascinating, inspiring and fun place to live, work, play, relax, socialize or just do nothing at all.
Park House is not the conventional home box design. The home has, for lack of a better term, several small ‘wings’ that combine with an amazing six split level floors design. These split levels subtly spread more than thirty rooms and spaces into more independent and smaller sections, keeping the large home on a more inviting, human scale.
ROOMS AND SPACES
The interior design includes two atriums, multiple vaulted ceiling rooms, a three room dining complex, including the spacious Great Room, five custom designed full baths, three of which are spa baths, five bedrooms including three suites, two of which are their own respective floors, Den, Gallery Room, Lizard Lounge, Fitness-Wellness Room, Media Room, Wine Room and transitional indoor outdoor spaces, including the Greenhouse-Sun Room, Porch, Master Floor 2 private deck, Den-Great Room Deck, long Porch, blue stone Patio and sheltered Dry Asian Garden.
THE FEELING and SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES of PARK HOUSE
The Joy of Life as a Design Goal
Created through flowing open spaces, rooms with high ceilings and natural light that floods the home from scores of windows, many oversized, and large skylights.
A feeling of warmth permeates the home though organic textures, materials and colors. Rooms are furnished for comfort as well as beauty.
Rich, subtle materials and finishes give the home an understated sense of luxury. One example, the flooring: 4,000 SF of long, wide plank Santos Mahogany, 3,000 SF of designer floating cork, bathroom floors (and walls) of rough travertine and granite,
A seminal design goal was providing an active, healthful home-lifestyle by providing multiple outdoor and transitional spaces. A great achievement toward this goal was flooding the home with abundant natural light, giving the home a sunny disposition (cheesy pun, but it's true).
A Stimulating Environment by Design
For problem solvers, knowledge based professionals and those involved in both creative and analytical processes, varying from strategic planning, R&D, entrepreneurs and those in the performing arts.
An architectural goal was resident and guest privacy. The home is set back from the street as a result. But the much greater architectural achievement was designing an exterior that appears deceptively small, thus sheltering most of the home from public view. And providing a modest public presentation, the owner's preference.
Interior home privacy, as demonstrated by two floors, each designed for just a one bedroom suite each, was a well executed achievement. Park House, obviously designed for serious entertaining, was also designed for a resident or visitor wanting solitude for work, study or just to be left alone for awhile. Thus, there are not only large social spaces. There are private, quiet spaces throughout the home.
Please Note: This is a No-Pretense Zone
Despite the sophistication of the home's design and decor, Park House is a welcoming, down-to-Earth place.
