May of Nineteen Hundred and Twenty Nine, Eileen and Arthur Darling, a couple with dream, a mountain of determination and desire, and the incredible ability to whip up delicious fare that would draw folks in from miles around, opened Eileen Darling's.
Opening down the road a bit as an Ice Cream Shoppe, Darling's has maintained its status as one of the area's finest dinning destinations. The restaurant has remained in the hands of the Darling family, with the fourth generation currently keeping true to the traditions and high standards set by Eileen and Arthur Darling way back when.
Located on the side of the Ramada Inn at I-195 and Rte 114A just over the line from Rhode Island, Darling's still is a local favorite of diners who love to come back for the great food and superior service. You will want to start with their famous Stuffed Quahog which is baked in the classic New England tradition using native Quahogs, or the Fresh Fried Calamari with fragrant garlic and hot peppers. The homemade New England Quahog Chowder is from Eileen's original recipe! If you're not sure what a Quahog is…. It's the large and succulent clams found in the bays and along the shoreline nearby.
Dinner entrées include: Broiled Lamb Chops, Filet Mignon, NY Sirloin, or Broiled Pork Chops. And to prove that this is a New England Restaurant, the Yankee Pot Roast is always a great choice. From the Seaside, Traditional Sea Scallops or Bay Scallops, Fresh Broiled Swordfish, Baked Salmon, Lobster Sauté, Broiled Scrod, and Fresh Yellow Tail Sole.
A fully stocked Lounge with large TV screens awaits you to watch for favorite event with your friends or to relax after a long day.
So when you're out shopping in the Seekonk area or driving on your way to Cape Cod, make this a part of your plans. The Darling family invites you to come and see why Darling's remains a Southern New England tradition since 1929!
