Located in Old Town, Seal Beach, and recognizable by the penguins in the front windows, this charmingly comfortable ground floor condo is a little bit of Heaven for your vacation get-away. The condo, one of only 3 units in the building, has panoramic views from the open kitchen and dining area, living room, and master bedroom, with places to relax outdoors on each side of the unit. The roomy interior also has 3 bedrooms, two 3/4 bathrooms with large stall showers, lots of closet space and a host of personal and recreational amenities. It is ideal for two families who want to vacation together and share in the cost of lodging, which makes our vacation haven amazingly affordable. It's also great for family or friends' reunions or any other group get-together or a romantic getaway for just the two of you.
There are queen beds in two of the bedrooms and 2 trundle beds, which sleep four, in the third bedroom. The table in the dining room accommodates 8 people of assorted sizes, and expands if you have visitors! There are ceiling fans in all the bedrooms and living room. It really is ideal for any number of people--up to 8. You won't get in each other's way but there is so much to do and see and enjoy, you'll spend most of your time outdoors. There is a wonderful gas BBQ just outside the kitchen. In the evening enjoy cable TV, the wealth of DVD movies, or puzzles and games from the "Entertainment Closet."
If you have a dog of a reasonable size (50 lbs or less), it is welcome to join you.
You'll find that all you need bring with you is your suitcase with comfortable clothing, and any medications, toiletries, perhaps a camera and sunscreen, too. We'll supply you with just about all else you might need or want including a parking permit for your car, beach chairs and an umbrella, and a couple of short boards for paddling or surfing. We are even available for babysitting should you need or want one. We might even be able to provide a Nanny if you give us enough notice.
If something should go wrong; if you should need anything or have any questions, we are a phone call and seven minutes away and at your service 24/7.
When you're home at the condo, there are toys and games and books for you to enjoy and chairs in each of the bedrooms for reading or just relaxing. For the beach, there are beach towels and chairs, sand toys. There's a great gas BBQ for grilling and a fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook--double oven, microwave, and a toaster oven; a blender for smoothies or milk shakes, a mixer for baking, and a big refrigerator for your perishables. There is a new dishwasher so no one will have to do the dishes!
You can have your morning coffee or tea while you people-watch from any of the front rooms or side patios. Then just walk about 300 steps across the street and down to the beach to spend the rest of your day in the sand and surf. Or, you can cross the street and spend your day in the shade of the trees in Eisenhower Park or rent a bike on Main St or take a walking tour of Seal Beach with its architectural and landscaping varieties. There is even a surfing school right on the sand and a children's playground on the other side of the pier. There are showers where the beach meets the parking lot or use our hoses on each side of the building for washing off all the sand that came home with you.
Seal Beach is a wonderful town for just walking. The pier plaza is a sort of meeting place with its big old-time clock and ramps down to the playground, restrooms, and beach. Streets with old and new homes and mixed styles of architecture and landscaping will show you why we love our little town. If you enjoy dogs, you'll find the town is filled with a variety of sizes, colors, and breeds, from the tiny ones that you can slip in your pocket to at least one that is the size of a small cow. In the evening, relax in comfort at your home-away-from-home and enjoy the cool breezes and a large screen TV with cable or movies on DVD. We'll have Wi-fi for live streaming of sports or movies or if you really must do some work on your computer.
During the summer there are weekly band concerts in the park at dusk and other "Old Town Events" such as the Lion's Club Fish Fry, for you to enjoy. If you like to fish, you can fish from the pier--just be sure to have or get a license. At sunset, take a walk on the pier and watch the sun paint the sky in an array of colors as it sets. In September there are movies in the evening and a juried Arts and Crafts Show in the park. For the holidays there is the much-beloved parade with Santa, a host of bands, floats, and adorably dressed dogs; the lighting of the Seal Beach tree, and the Hanukkah menorah, complete with potato pancakes and music. In the Spring, Seal Beach holds a Classic Car Show and a Seal Beach Run of various distances for all ages and a Health Expo. The library is just two blocks away while the Old Town Post Office is a block down Main Street. You'll find you don't even need a car while vacationing because just about everything is in walking distance. Hair salons, nail spas, a pharmacy, supermarket, candy store, sports bars, bike rentals, Mac store, gift and clothing shops, and more are around the corner. Main Street has just about every ethnic restaurant you might want to savor. Enjoy drinks during happy hours at the bars or restaurants. Try some or all of the eating establishments: Mexican, Thai, Italian, Japanese, Pub, Greek, good ole American, great burgers, two coffee houses, one of which has live music nightly, seafood, yummy breakfasts, pizza places, a pie shop, and even finer dining. There is also great shopping in unique, not chain stores--from flowers and plants to ice cream and smoothies to clothing and surfboards, beach decor and antique shops, jewelers and shell shops.
If you can make yourself leave Seal Beach for some sightseeing, you can drive or use Uber/Lyft, public transportation to take you south to Huntington Beach (also known as Surf City, USA), Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Legoland, Angels Stadium, Laguna Art Festival and Pageant of the Masters and other places of amusement and beauty. If you go in a northerly direction you can visit Universal City, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Dodger Stadium, Olvera Street and the LA Zoo and Planetarium in Griffith Park; for some culture and wonderful entertainment don't miss the Disney Hall, Hollywood Bowl, and our outstanding museums and science centers in Exposition Park, the mid-Wilshire area, and Downtown LA. We'll have a booklet with more information for you to use during your visit and take with you as a keepsake when you leave.
After all those exhausting but exciting excursions, come back to Seal Beach, with its palm tree-lined streets, for a refreshing dip in the sea or stroll on the pier. If you look up, you might even see a shooting star! Paradise is just another name for your vacation home in Seal Beach. We can almost guarantee you won't want to leave.
We are so excited to be able to share our home-away-from-home and little piece of Paradise with you. We will personally greet you, do everything we can to make it a wonderful stay, and wave to you as you leave, hopefully to return at your very next opportunity!
