A woodsy house of cedar and native stone, we look forward to welcoming you to our pretty bower in the green wood! This 3-story chalet is architecturally interesting, and is distinguished by its butterfly roof. Relaxing and cozy, the house has an 'up in the trees, tree-house'' feeling. Our elegant-rustic, having a remarkably secluded atmosphere for actually being so close to all the village conveniences is peaceful and refreshing. This high mountain retreat, above the Village mid-town, about 7,000 feet above sea level, also has some delightful mountain views peeping through Ponderosa pines.
Centrally located in the charming and quaint Village of Ruidoso, the house is only a few minutes drive from a grocery store, Fitness Trails, the movie theater, a dry cleaners, golfing, and dining! Only 7 minutes drive to mid-town Ruidoso, our mountain forest home is situated on a quiet corner lot, in a well maintained, small village neighborhood, established in the 1960's Country Club Estates, during Sierra Blanca Ski Resort's heyday (now Ski Apache). Built in 1962, this lovely, updated vintage has many desirable features, including two separate living rooms.
The main floor living area has large, two-story, plate glass, windows, providing views of the trees and forest. This open concept living-dining area features a cozy, convenient gas log fireplace, showcasing a wall of beautiful native stone still holding its lovely lichen intact. The charming little kitchen, with its cheery tilework, is suitably located on this main level. At the front door, the expansive, wrap-around, wooden deck holds a stairway to the semi-circular drive. From the kitchen hall, is a back door which accesses the little road behind the house, and also the driveway, by way of shaded, gravel pathways. The main floor has a ¾ bathroom, with walk-in shower; it is flanked by two, non-connecting, bedrooms; one bedroom has a double-sized bed, & the other bedroom has two twin sized beds.
The delightful narrow, carpeted, stairways add to the 'up in the tree house feeling'! On the third story, is a separate 3/4 bathroom having double sinks, and a walk-in shower. Two more bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed, the other with a queen-sized bed, are located upstairs. These two larger bedrooms are adjacent to an enjoyable balcony sitting area. There is always the possibility of various wildlife sightings from this cozy viewing spot with woodland, tree-top, and mountain views; it's a delightful spot to view Ol' Baldy and the Sierra Blanca Mountain range. Perched up here is a cozy little reading nook.
The Game room is adjacent to the driveway, with convenient ground-level entrance to the house, having a pool table and a game table. The game room connects to a second living-room having a smart TV. This Lowest floor also has an office, and a 3/4 bathroom with a vanity table.
