As you savor dinner on Cliff Top’s deck, watching the sun set behind the majestic mountains and finches and nuthatches sing, you’ll feel at one with nature. Yet, the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is just minutes from shops, restaurants, a casino, and other attractions.
The glorious mountain vistas are visible, not just from Cliff Top’s spacious deck, but you can admire them also from the home’s great room as well. The dining table, which seats six with ease, is perfectly positioned to take full advantage of the scenery. That goes for the adjacent breakfast bar (which seats three people) and the kitchen (which includes a table for four) as well. The roomy kitchen is also outfitted with stainless-steel appliances, a full array of cookware and tableware, and plenty of counter space. Whether you’re preparing a gourmet feast, whipping up pancakes, or reheating leftovers from the previous night’s restaurant meal, you’ll find all the accoutrements you need right here. If you’d prefer to cook as well as dine on the deck, you can do so courtesy of the gas grill.
Along with a dining area and a kitchen, Cliff Top’s great room includes a living area where the gang can gather to watch a movie on the large flat-screen TV with cable. On chilly winter evenings, the fireplace makes the room even more welcoming while the ceiling fans provide an inviting breeze on days when it’s not quite warm enough to put on the air-conditioning.
Another space where everyone can hang out is the game room. The pool table provides a great alternative to going out for entertainment after an action-packed day. Even if you don’t shoot pool, you’ll enjoy spending time here with the others, lounging on the comfy leather couch and watching TV.
All four of Cliff Top’s bedrooms have a queen-size bed. In addition, one of the sofas opens into a bed for two, so that as many as ten people can spend the night. When you arrive, you’ll find all the beds impeccably made up, plenty of clean towels for all three bathrooms, and extra bedding ready and waiting. If you want to make a nap or a shower your first order of business, you can. Other amenities include free WiFi, plenty of parking, and a washer and dryer (so that you can pack light).
Be sure to bring your ski gear and hiking boots, though. Cliff Top is just a forty-minute drive to Ski Apache, the southernmost continually operating ski resort in the country, with warm-weather powder skiing and a peak of more than 12,000 feet. Only ten minutes from the house is Grindstone Lake and Trail System, where you can fish, boat, hike, ride mountain bikes and horses, and play disc golf; you might spy ospreys, mule deer, black bears, and elk while there. You can drive to Alto Lake and Recreation Area in fifteen minutes; when you’re not fishing—in the trout-stocked lake—you can explore the surrounding trails on foot, mountain bike, or horseback. If you’d like a break from strenuous activity, spend the day exploring the art galleries and artisan shops of Sudderth Drive, visiting the Hubbard Museum of the American West, watching horse racing at Ruidoso Downs, or trying your luck at Billy the Kid Casino—they’re all less than ten minutes away.
No matter how you spend your days, you’ll relish returning to the comfort and serenity of Cliff Top afterward. Reserve your stay today—before someone else beats you to it! We look forward to seeing you soon. Please remember that Ruidoso is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. This can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads.Get the full listing »
