America's best-selling truck for 37 years, the new 2015 Ford F-150 is the most technology advanced F-150 pickup truck ever built. The all-new 2015 Ford F-150 is loaded with many new driver-assist features that improve comfort, convenience and function.

First introduced on the 2011 Ford Explorer, Curve Control is a system developed exclusively by the Ford engineers. Curve Control detects when the F-150 is entering a corner too fast and responds by automatically applying the four-wheel braking system, reducing vehicle speed up to 10 mph in roughly 1 second, while simultaneously reducing torque.

Active Park Assist employs two ultrasonic sensors in conjunction with Ford's electronic power-assisted steering in helping with parallel parking. The sensors measure the distance between two parked vehicles to determine if there’s enough room to park the F-150. Once the sensors determine the F-150 can fit, the truck automatically steers itself into the space while the driver controls the speed with the brake and accelerator.

Offered as an option, a 360-degree camera with a split-view display gives the driver a bird’s-eye view of the area surrounding the 2015 F-150. This assists in maneuvering in tight spots, such as a parking in a garage and navigating narrow roadways.

The 2015 Ford F-150 offers class-exclusive Adaptive Cruise Control that features collision warning with brake support. A radar-based system mounted on the front of the vehicle measures the speed and distance of other vehicles and then calculates and adjusts the speed of the F-150 to keep the truck at a consistent following distance, preset by the driver.

A Collision Avoidance System triggers both visual and audio alerts if the following distance is lessening too quickly, detecting a possible collision. The system will also pre-charge the truck's brakes if it detects a possible crash.

Also offered as an option, an available Hill-Descent Control keeps the F-150 at a safe speed, automatically applying the anti-lock brakes when the vehicle exceeds a predetermined set speed when traveling down a steep grade. This allows the driver to focus more on driving responsibilities, and less on braking duties.

Individual tire pressure monitoring has been added to the 2015 Ford F-150. The system monitors the air pressure of all four tires individually which helps the driver keep the tires properly inflated and also alerts the driver immediately if there is a sudden, and unsafe, drop in air pressure.

A Smart-Trailer module alerts the driver when, and which, lights on a trailer being towed by the F-150 aren’t operating properly. This is a huge help when driving alone, as it can be next to impossible to figure out which lights on a trailer aren’t working without an assistant. It also saves the trouble of having to have someone stand behind the trailer while yelling back and forth to figure out when a bulb isn’t lighting up.

A Blind Spot Information System, or BLIS, with a cross traffic alert is another available option. BLIS employs radar sensors mounted in the rear lights to observe areas that might not be visible to the driver. The sensors will trigger a warning light located in the side-view mirrors if another vehicle moves into the driver’s blind spot when the driver attempts to change lanes. The sensors are also able to detect if another car is approaching when the driver is backing out of a parking spot.

A Lane-Keeping System is one more selection worthy of taking from the 2015 Ford F-150 options list. Lane-keeping prevents the truck from straying outside of the driving lane with the help of a video camera mounted in back of the rear-view mirror that automatically detects lane pavement markings. Additionally, if the driver does not react to vibrations in the steering wheel the system automatically supplies steering torque to help safely guide the truck back into the driving lane, if needed.
