The modern Vivenda Taborda is about 800 metres from unspoiled sandy Atlantic beaches near the village of Afife, which is a small tranquil village in the Costa Verde area of the Alto Minho region.
The ground floor has a lounge with a large French window leading on to a patio. It has satellite TV, VCR and CD/DVD players, a small bar, one double sofa-bed and three single sofa-beds. There is also a fireplace which makes it very pleasant for winter stays.
An ample modern kitchen is fully equipped with hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and kettle. It has a table for up to 10 persons.
Upstairs from the main entrance, there is another lounge with a snooker table and a veranda with views to the Atlantic Ocean.
Next to it, there is a room with a pool table.
Opposite and a few stairs up, are the bedrooms.
The master room has a double bed, TV, en suite shower room and a veranda with sea views.
Another double bedroom has a balcony with the same views.
This bedroom shares an independent bathroom with the other three bedrooms. One has two beds and the other two have double beds. There is a TV in one of these bedrooms. The three bedrooms have views to the rear of the property.
Adjacent to the house, there is a garage with room for two cars. There is a table tennis table and other games and also a small laundry with a washing-machine.
In the patio, it is possible to park a further three cars.
The lovely flowered garden has many fruit trees and an extensive pool measuring about 10 by 5 metres. The depth is from 1.10 to 1.90 metres. There is a pool side shower in the garden and a shower room.
At the rear is a barbecue and a stone table with seating for up to 8 persons.
There is a gate separating the pool area from the house/barbecue area.
About 200 metres away, there is a single track train line where the occasional train passes.
The town of Viana do Castelo is about five kilometres away. It is worth many visits as the buildings showing its great historical importance have been preserved.
A lovely view over the town is from Santa Luzia Mountain - or better still while sipping a drink on the terrace of the Pousada.
To the north is the small border town of Caminha where it is possible to cross the Minho River by ferry to visit Santa Tecla Mountain and the towns of Spain.
There is a mini-market in the village of Afife, a supermarket is six kilometres away and there is a good choice of restaurants nearby where the specialty is local fresh fish.Get the full listing »
