Dave Channon has exhibited in NYC galleries and museums for 30 years. He "bought the farm" in Shandaken to escape Y2K... only to find he was really escaping 911. His oil paintings, giant inflating sculptures, installations and works on paper have been written up in the New York Times, Art in America, and other industry rags. He has collaborated with some of the greats: Joseph Cornell, Red Grooms, Phillip Guston, Keith Haring, even Leroy Nieman for heaven sakes! Right now, he is in the studio arc welding old farm implements into great lawn sculptures. Dave is organizing a Shandaken Art studio tour this summer, so be sure to contact him if you are interested- Call and make a personal appointment to visit his studio: 688 2977. And be sure to visit Dave's Art Safari at The Arts Upstairs website - a funny and thought provoking review of picks from their monthly exhibition.
