Point Breeze is poised to become the hottest Philly neighborhood of 2017!!
Point Breeze lies in South Philadelphia, with the Delaware River to the east and the Schuylkill River to the west. It is a great neighborhood for public transportation and nightlife!!
Point Breeze has seen revitalization in the 2000s with the opening of trendy bars and residential property upgrades. Called "The Breeze" by Philly locals, this neighborhood is on the upswing and provides interesting food and nightlife, a diverse crowd, and affordable living.
There is an awesome eatery and bar called The American Sardine Bar. It is one block away. OCF on 20th & Federal St. has notably nice teas, great coffee and a great music playlist- only a 5 minute walk away! One of our favorite hang-outs is a Chicks, 1807 Washington Ave. The neighborhood also boasts restaurants with Vietnamese, Thai, Italian, and Mexican cuisine. Locals love Circles Contemporary Asian for delivery due to its on-the-mark Pad Thai, spring rolls, and curry. Point Breeze's nightlife is affordable and laid-back. South Philadelphia Tap Room is ideal for brunch, dinner, or drinks. It serves a short but out-of-the-box menu and pours craft drafts. Residents praise the Wild Boar Tacos and unbelievable happy hour. Hoppy beers and Indian-meets-American food can be found at Madira Bar and Grill. It's a great change to hip joints with a dive bar atmosphere and attached bottle shop. In addition, we are only a 20 minute walk to Philly's best cheesesteaks. Take your pick; Geno's or Pat's on South 9th St. The landmark Italian Market is at 9th & Washington Ave.
On the edge of Point Breeze at Broad St. (14th street) are three SEPTA stations: Ellsworth-Federal, Tasker-Morris, and Snyder. This train runs north and south, and can take you through the center of Philadelphia all the way to the Delaware River. Apart from the convenient train, SEPTA also runs frequent buses.
Some bus trips call for short walks, but overall, it is a useful mode of transport. Hailing a cab or Uber/Lyft is easy!Get the full listing »
