This beautifully renovated and spacious 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home is an oasis of textiles, antiques, and art from around the world, with all of the modern conveniences, easily accommodating 6 or more guests. In the heart of one of Philly's favorite neighborhoods, with excellent restaurants, cafes, bars (e.g., Dock Street Brewery) just a short walk. UPenn, Drexel, UArts, and CHOP are 10 blocks away. Unrestricted on-street parking. Multiple public transport options a few blocks away.
This newly renovated home has many charming original touches like the beautiful ornate oak fireplace mantle and stained glass windows above an alcove seat, but has been fully updated and redesigned in an open format for a modern sensibility. Hand-made textiles, Middle Eastern carpets, arts and artifacts add warmth and color to beautiful new hardwood floors. The kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances, cabinets, and granite counter tops. It's fully stocked. If it's not there, I'll get it for you. The master bedroom and bath are highlights. If you like baths, the soaking tub is a must. There's a porch with plenty of seating and a small tree-shaded backyard with a firepit. There are excellent diverse neighbors, plenty of street lighting, and on street parking. Many guests have remarked at how comfortable and at-home they have felt during their stay.
I lived here with my two young daughters and couldn't have imagined living anywhere else, city or suburbs. You're within easy striking distance of the best the city has to offer with multiple transportation options (I even walk downtown), and yet it still feels a world apart from the center city with it's funky coffeehouses and wonderful diversity.
