Your 1b, 1ba cottage with a new King Bed IS NOT AN APARTMENT, CONDO or TRAILER. AND IT IS NOT NEAR I-40 OR TRAIN HORNS. Nor is your cottage in 1-2 acre or less, packed areas like Kachina Village, Mountain Aire, Baderville, or Sherwood Forest, which are neighborhoods. These are NOT desirable, mixed communities with nice houses and junk properties mixed together.
At this cottage, you will not be in a suburban or semi-rural neighborhood. You’ll be staying far from local cities. This is a free-standing, remote, deep-in-forest place with a gorgeous view of the famous Spring Valley. Big shade and regular breezes. But high winds are sheltered by the Pines. Nearest major road and freeway are Route 66 (6-1/4 miles S) and I-40 (7 - 7-1/4 miles S).
This property was initially developed in 1990 by the Wrigley Family. Yes. Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs), Wrigley Chewing Gun. Known by legacy as “The Wrigley Ranch,” it’s most recently known as “Dago Joe’s Place.”
As remote as this may be, you'll be safe and secure as we are here on property to assist in any unusual or emergency situation. We have never had such an occurrence. However, we do have clear and efficient plans for any unexpected medical emergency. We have motion sensored night lights that you can enable or disable. Star gazers usually disable as do fire pit burners!
Your cozy 1b, 1ba cottage is nestled in 40ft-75ft Ponderosa and Lodgepole pines, the perfect place for a weekend getaway deep in the Kaibab National Forest. Whether you’re looking to beat the heat of The Valley, Havasu, or Vegas, or for a serene trip, a romantic getaway, or an adventure vacation, or even a honeymoon, this is the place. And in late Spring thru Mid-Fall, we can offer you a green, cool and wildlife filled stay!
In Late Spring, Summer, and Early Fall, you'll love the "no air conditioning needed" comfort of the cottage. Open, crack or close windows to adjust your room temp. In Winter or when nights are cool or cold, you'll have a pellet stove that will keep you toasty on its lowest settings!

To use your cell phone, you'll need to drive out to the prairie about 2-1/2 miles down the road.
Tarry on out to our pond and enjoy sitting on our glider/bench while the geese and ducks frolic. If you like, bring fresh fruits and veggies to hand feed all the free-grazing birds. Horses love carrots and apples! Our dogs will likely follow you around. Goats love being visited. Take the baby goats for a walk. Both the dogs and the goats just want company and attention!

Take a 2 mile RT flat walk or dirt bicycle ride to Spring Valley Tank, a very popular watering hole for all thirsty wildlife around here on the Spring Valley Trail. Take a hike or dirt bicycle ride to Shulz Pass and see it's gorgeous high mountain meadows about 1 - 1-1/2 miles past Spring Valley Tank. Or for near 360 degree views of most of Northern Arizona’s highest peaks plus a glimpse of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, take a 2 mile RT hike due East to Lone Tree Lookout, about 1/2 mile past Mule Deer Hill on Spring Valley Knolls. Or take a 4 mile RT on the Spring Valley Trail along the base of Sitgreave’s foothills to the new end of the trail where a Martian type, landscape desolation developed from a massive wildland fire 6-8 years ago. And if you dare and you’re in high altitude climbing condition, try mountain hiking to the peak of Mt. Sitgreaves due West of here. No fire roads. No trails unless you stumble upon an elk trail. We are told that only 5 people per year find the summit and make it to the top. Please advise us in writing if you intend to try it.
