PANGEA means "all earth" and it was the name given to the supercontinent when all the land masses on earth were connected many years ago. So why was the name chosen for an East Village restaurant? Well it was chosen metaphorically, because PANGEA's menu has many cross cultural influences, such as American, Mediterranean and Asian.
However, PANGEA is more than a restaurant. It is a second home to neighborhood artists, writers and actors, many of them finding that moment of inspiration while relaxing at PANGEA during the afternoon or early evening hours. PANGEA is open late and after 10pm one finds a diverse mix of people enjoying cocktails, dinner and late night bites. During the summer months join the rest of the crowd, as they watch the world pass by, in our sidewalk café.
Pangea is an East Village restaurant and lounge offering an American menu with Mediterranean and Asian influences. Menu selections include Steak Frites, Seafood, Burgers, Pasta, Salads and more. Pangea's lounge-like setting is perfect for early or late night cocktails and the large oak bar can accomodate groups. Pangea offers a private party room for larger groups. Perfect for birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, weddings and showers.
