Reopened October 11, 2007 The Frederick's midtown outpost has transformed itself (once again) into Jour Et Nuit, a modern French-American bistro. In hopes of resurrecting the defunct Soho Jour Et Nuit, owner Frederick Lesort has teamed up with twin brothers Derek and Daniel Koch to install the latest incarnation this subterranean space has seen. Having worked at Le Bilbouqet for numerous years, the Koch brothers have amassed a loyal and predominately European clientele they hope will follow them to their new venture. Once a private supper club, Jour Et Nuit has a more democratic door policy and a decorative face lift. Its interior design is cozy and intimate, reminiscent of New York's glamour of the late 1940's accented with plush blue velvet banquette, deep rich tones, cherry wood floors and cream colored walls, dim lighting and an air of incomparable sophistication. There's also a lengthy standing room only bar to lure the after-work banker crowd. The most exclusive lounge in Manhattan is located on the most prestigious avenue of the city where to posh and the privileged live, shop and play. Fifth Avenue is the premier address of all things that define New York wealth and sophistication: the former Plaza Hotel, Trump Plaza, Bergdorf Goodman, Tiffany, Gucci and Louis Vuitton as its neighbors. Frederick's is the premier lounge destination for the social elite, fashionistas and young financiers seeking signature cocktails, refined cuisine, impeccable service in a warm inviting ambiance.
