In 1985, Morristown was pleasantly surprised by the arrival of a restaurant that would quickly become one of the leading establishments in the area. The cafe was named after a popular Caribbean spinach-like vegetable, calaloo. This particular vegetable is a common addition to many soups and chowders in Caribbean countries such as Jamaica.
The Calaloo Cafe was named with a Caribbean theme that is consistent with the decor and the menu. Calaloo, known for being the "Caribbean getaway" in Morristown, prides itself not only on its diversified menu, but its tropical theme that is consistent with the islands and flows through out the restaurant.
The bar area is designed as a gazebo, which includes a beautifully painted mural on the ceiling that accents the rest of the restaurant surroundings.
The indoor dining area is full of plush array of tropical plants and beautiful flowers that truly emit an essence of the outdoors. Step outside, and you will be instantly transported to paradise.
Our 70 person open air dining area is decorated with our famous palm trees that are shipped directly from Florida every summer (and shipped back at the end of the season).
