First, let’s start with the definition of sexual dysfunction. Sexual dysfunction is a single sexual problem or multiple sexual problems. In this article I will talk about each of the difficulties of sexual dysfunction, the effect in the self-esteem of the individual, his or her social life and his or her laboral life. I will also talk about the solutions for sexual dysfunction. Let's start with each of the difficulties of sexual dysfunction.

Some individuals experience lack of physical pleasure. For example, it is normal to have desire for your partner body. However, some individuals lack of this normal physical need. Other individuals have lack of desire. This is another basic need of the body, the sexual desire. It is normal to have sexual desire for your spouse or partner. Sadly, some individuals don’t have that desire. The lack of physical pleasure and desire affect the ability to have orgasms. In other words, sexual relations become a torture routine for those individuals. It is a very sad experience because sexual relations are a normal part of the mankind. The question is: how does sexual dysfunction affect the self-esteem of those individuals?

Much of the individuals that suffer of sexual dysfunction are men. We live in a society that gives much value to the physical aspects of the men rather than the emotional aspects. If the man doesn't have sexual power then it is considered an eunuch or a effeminate. It is cruel to give a human being those characteristics because there are more things than just the physical body. When men can't please their partners, they can't lose confidence in themselves and they can have depression and anxiety.

The sexual dysfunction can affect the social and work circles of the individual. For example, if the man can't please his partner then he can feel guilty or embarrassed. This can cause problems in his relationship because men who suffer of sexual dysfunction often distance themselves for their partners. His partner can think that the man is losing interest in the relationship. However, that is not the case. The problem is that the man is too ashamed to talk with his partner about the situation. Some women can think that her partner is impotent with them, but potent with other women. This can cause a great level of insecurity and tension in their relationship. The love life is not the only one affected by sexual dysfunction. The friendship relationships are also affected. For example, some men reject invites of his friends because they are too ashamed of their condition and don’t feel valuable as men.

The sexual dysfunction can also affect the work circles of the individual. The productivity can decrease because his self-esteem and confidence also decrease. However, some factors at work can also increase the sexual dysfunction in men. Some men view their careers as an important part of their lives. When problems occur at work, they worry a lot and that can cause the sexual dysfunction. "If a man is not performing well at work, he may find it difficult to perform well in the bedroom" (Jack,2005)

Fortunately, there is hope and solutions for sexual dysfunction. The most common treatment is medications. Medications can increase blood flow to the penis. The setback is that many of those medications have secondary effects. The second method is a pump. A pump is used right before sex to pull blood into the penis. This can increase the blood flow and also relieve stress. After all, some of the causes of sexual dysfunction are obesity, stress heart disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis and tobacco use. Many of these causes can improve if you make exercise.

In conclusion, sexual dysfunction is a very serious issue. Fortunately, you can prevent or treat sexual dysfunction with the method that is more convenient for you.
