About the Cabo area-
Located in the southernmost tip of the state of Baja California Sur, Los Cabos consists of two main areas: Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Cabo San Lucas – This tourist-friendly town is located on the tip of the Baja Peninsula and is full of entertainment for every age. The Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean meet at Land’s End, hosting many beautiful rock formations, including the famous Cabo Arch. You can also find Medano Beach, the liveliest beach in the Los Cabos area, an impressive marina, and countless restaurants and bars that keep the town alive both day and night. San Jose Del Cabo - Walking around downtown San José lets you experience a traditional Mexican town. Find yourself surrounded by colorful buildings and quaint cobblestone streets that lead to the town’s zocalo (main plaza). Over the years, San José has become an artistic and cultural center, with numerous fine art galleries in its downtown art district, as well as world-class restaurants. San José also has a beautiful beach, perfect for horseback rides to explore the estuary that is home to many different bird species.
Some local attractions include…
Cabo Pulmo National Park - Often considered one of the world’s best marine preserves, is located on the eastern coast of the Baja Peninsula. This thriving destination is home to rich marine life including humpback whales, devil rays, sea lions, and countless fish. The oldest coral reef on North America’s western coast is also found in this incredibly biodiverse park.
El Arco Cabo San Lucas - This famous arc-shaped natural rock formation is an iconic symbol of Los Cabos, and a must-see for any visitor. Set at the extreme southern tip of the Baja Peninsula, El Arco is also a gathering point for sea lions as well as the perfect photo op, framing the sky, sea, and sand.
Fishing - There is a reason why the world’s richest fishing tournament, the Bisbee’s Black & Blue, has taken place in Los Cabos for over 30 years. This part of the world has abundant sea life and an exceptionally high catch success rate, no matter what your level of fishing experience is.
Golf - With the Baja desert meeting the Sea of Cortez as a backdrop, Los Cabos has become a destination for some of the world’s most beautiful championship golf over the years, with multiple seaside courses offering breathtaking views.
Snorkeling/Diving - Prepare yourself for an incredible show of nature as you swim side-by-side with colorful schools of fish, eels, rays, octopuses, sea turtles and more. The Sea of Cortez, nicknamed the “Aquarium of the World,” offers ample opportunities to experience incredible underwater wildlife.
Shopping - The area’s many stores and shops are brimming with handmade wares and beautiful objects, both local and from mainland Mexico. Plaza Artesanos in San José del Cabo boasts over 75 vendors selling authentic Mexican arts and crafts. For a more upscale experience, Las Tiendas de Palmilla (The Shoppes at Palmilla) is a popular destination with boutiques, galleries, fine dining, and more. Half the fun is exploring the many options and finding the perfect gifts for family, friends, and of course, yourself.Get the full listing »
