Sitting steps from the beautiful, crystal clear Caribbean, our off-the-grid beachfront casita is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy paradise.
The casita is spacious, beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a delightful stay. Enjoy the gentle ocean breeze while laying in your hammock or swinging bed. Or head to the lounge chairs available under your private, beachfront palapa where you can sleep, read and sunbathe. If you're feeling more adventurous, you can explore the world famous Meso-American coral reef that is just 300 ft. from our shore line and offers fantastic snorkeling, diving and swimming. Or break out your fishing rod and try your luck at catching highly sought after game fish like Permit and Bonefish right outside your front door.
Located on the beach road 14 km south of the town of Mahahual, Mexico, our remote location offers the convenience of being a close enough 15 minute to town to enjoy the festivities, get supplies and dine in restaurants, while giving you the privacy, seclusion and freedom of a beach that is almost entirely your own.
Located in a standalone building from the main house for your privacy and comfort, our 1,000 square foot casita is super spacious with one bedroom, one bathroom a separate living area and full kitchen with refrigerator, oven and all the necessary pots, pans and accessories you would need to cook up a tasty meal, scrumptious snack or mix a margarita.
The living space is a large comfortable area where you can read on the comfy furniture or take an afternoon siesta in the hammock.
The separate bedroom has a queen-size bed that uniquely hangs from the ceiling like a swing and will gently rock you to sleep. There is an en-suite bathroom with large shower.
The casita is located up a set of stairs, giving your stay a tree house vibe. You will also have access to a private rooftop that provides spectacular sunrises over the aquamarine waters of the Caribbean from one side and fantastic sunsets over the surrounding jungle from the other. Or spread out under the stars and enjoy the night sky uninterrupted by city lights. There are very few places in the world that you get to enjoy sunrises and sunsets from the same spot, a stay here gets you on the list.
Please note that our property is totally off the grid and electricity is provided by solar and wind. It is necessary to conserve energy whenever possible, that means avoiding anything with a heating element including hair dryers, curling irons and irons. We don't have air conditioning but plenty of fans and the ocean breeze keep us nice and cool 99% of the time. Drinking water, linens, towels, bathroom tissue and cleaning supplies are all provided.
For your entertainment we offer a small selection of board games, snorkel equipment, boogie boards and we do have Wifi (although please note that it is not high speed).
We also have 2 friendly rescue dogs on the property, Coca and Santiago. They are very entertaining, have wildly differing personalities, are lovable (at least we think so) and are always interested in meeting new people.
Caretakers Jason and Deidre occupy the main house and can assist you with any questions you may have, can offer recommendations and suggestions, or make arrangements for fishing, snorkeling, diving or other trips that may be of interest to you.
There are a few options in getting here.
- Our recommendation is to rent a car and drive the 4 hours from the Cancun airport. Since we are remote, it helps to have a car to get to town or to see the surrounding sights. The drive here is incredibly easy, there are only a couple of turns and also gives you the opportunity to stock up on groceries or supplies on your way down.
Other options include:
- You can take the ADO bus from cancan airport to Mahahual - note there is a bus change in Playa Del Carmen. Approx 400 pesos.
- You can use private shuttle through AGI tours that will take you direct from airport to our door. Approx 265 USD for two people. You would be travelling alone in a large shuttle van. The driver will pick up any time of day or night. Depending on the time of day you arrive, the driver can stop at SAMs Club, Costco or a grocery store to stock up on supplies.
If you make it here, we promise you'll experience a vacation in unspoiled paradise that you won't soon forget.Get the full listing »
