Becoming a professional chef demands practical experience, putting to work what you've learned in the classroom. That's why senior culinary students at the National Center for Hospitality Studies serve a practicum at Winston's Restaurant, a 3-1/2 star gourmet restaurant at the Sullivan University Campus.
You'll learn to prepare and serve gourmet dishes for an extensive menu of brunch, lunch and dinner under the leadership of Executive Chef John Castro. Winston's is considered one of the foremost culinary training restaurants in the country, has received many awards for service, wine selection and cuisine and is a member of the Kentucky Restaurant Association, Louisville Originals and the Chaine des Rotisseurs.
Featured by the Food Network, Travel Channel, Food and Dining Magazine, Wine Enthusiast Magazine and many other local and national media, Winston's is located on-campus at 3101 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40205.
Best Known For...
Most recently Winston's Restaurant has been elected by the American Culinary Federation as the Most Distinguished Restaurant for Student Training. In addition, both Chef John Castro and his brother have of late been featured on the Food Network. Both brothers competed on Bobby Flay's Throw Down. Did they win? Perhaps, but the best way to find out is to dine at Winston's Restaurant itself.
