This event is a qualifying co-lead for Julie Watson. Join us for a hike in the Pennsylvania Wilds, a region home to millions of acres of unspoiled forests and mountains. Our journey will take us over some the most beautiful, and rugged, terrain in north central PA, including climbing up a boulder field and technical descents. Be prepared for steep ascents and multiple wet creek crossings. The distance is 18 miles with 6000 feet of elevation gain. It will be an all-day hike. We will not be stopping much or taking extended breaks, so bring food that you can access and eat on the go. The group will be staying together. Bring water, electrolytes, calories, headlamp, extra socks, the 10 essentials, and your sense of adventure. Registration on Meetup is preferred for logistics planning and car pool coordination. This is a challenging hike. Be healthy and in good physical condition. If you are getting over an illness or injury, please choose a different hike. Light rain will not cancel, severe weather will.
