WOODLAND PARK, N.J., August 8, 2013 - Eight new sponsors are among the latest organizations to pledge support for the Second Annual 4 Miler at Garret Mountain, presented by the Sax Macy Fromm Foundation. Proceeds from the race, set for September 7, 2013 at Garret Mountain Reservation in Woodland Park, will benefit the Child Life Department at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Paterson, N.J.

Mountain Development Corp. of Woodland Park; Balance Point Payroll of Glen Rock; Daniel McLaughlin; PROBAR, LLC of Salt Lake City, Utah; and J. Fletcher Creamer of Hackensack have joined as Silver Sponsors. Bronze Sponsors include The Chadler Group of Glen Rock; payroll and employee benefits provider ADP; and Columbia Bank. A wide range of sponsorship opportunities, designed for businesses of all sizes, are still available for this popular charity event.

"We're pleased to welcome our latest sponsors to the race and are grateful to them for partnering with us in our effort to make life better for the children and families in our communities," said Robert Paz, the firm's managing director. "We were thrilled with the success of last year's inaugural event, which raised nearly $43,000 for St. Joseph's Children's Hospital's Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department. We fully expect that this year's race will draw even more participants and sponsorship support."

"It's a great event, and we are happy to be a sponsor for the second year," said Peter Luciano, a partner of Balance Point Payroll. "St. Joseph's Children's Hospital is a tremendous organization and we couldn't pass up on the opportunity to support them. Not only is this event for a great cause, but we've had a wonderful, successful relationship with Sax Macy Fromm over the years and it's a pleasure to support their foundation as well. We are very much looking forward to participating in the run."

Additional corporations, foundations and individuals are invited to join as sponsors. Those interested in sponsorship packages should contact Danielle Atkinson at [email protected] or (973) 472-6250 for more information, or visit http://www.smf-cpa.com/Events.aspx.

Once again, the 4 Miler event's venue is the 568-acre recreational Garret Mountain Reservation, an area landmark located at 288 Rifle Camp Road overlooking I-80 in Woodland Park. It will feature a four-mile run on a scenic USA Track & Field certified double loop course and a 1.5-mile trail walk. Kids' dashes, ranging from 25 to 200 yards, will be held for youngsters ages 2 to 11. Race-day entertainment includes a DJ, random prize drawings, a variety of children's activities and post-race refreshments. Custom technical t-shirts will be provided to participants, while supplies last.

Sax Macy Fromm & Co., PC has a 50-year history and has become one of the tri-state area's leading accounting and consulting services firms. The company specializes in services for closely held independent and family-owned businesses.

Based in Clifton, N.J., the firm established the SMF Foundation to give back to the community. The Foundation once again will be absorbing all expenses associated with the 4 Miler in order to donate 100 percent of the proceeds, raised through sponsorships, directly to St. Joseph's Child Life Department, a crucial resource in helping to ease the stress and anxiety of pediatric patients and their families during illness and hospitalization.

Recognized for its high standard of quality responsive and compassionate pediatric care, St. Joseph's is a state-designated children's hospital offering a broad spectrum of services for patients from birth to 21 years of age and their families. Reliant solely on private program support, Child Life Department staff members provide a wide variety of programs, including medical play; pet, music and art therapy; and celebratory activities, among others.
