Apartment Le Stelle, on the second floor, has grandiose views from all windows. Amenities include: a modern and fully equipped kitchen, with oven and hob, breakfast bar with stools, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery, iron and ironing board. The dining table with chairs is next to a curved window with a beautiful view over the valley. Bathroom with large shower, bidet and bath, hairdryer. There is a King size bed and a single bed on the mezzanine. TV, central heating and fireplace for the winter months.
The apartment is suitable for two adults, plus a child or a third adult. The price applies for 2 people. A third person aged 14 or older is € 110 extra per week. A child up to 14 years of age is 60 euros extra per week. All linen and towels are included in the rent.
There are three self-contained apartments made in a part of the old monastery, each with great views. "Le Stelle", The Stars, on the second floor. "La Luna", The Moon, on the first floor and "Il Sole", The Sun, on the ground floor. With a lot of time and attention, the original features of the building have been preserved in the typical Tuscan style. This, combined with modern bathrooms, kitchens and lighting, results in a stylish and comfortable environment for a relaxing stay.
The swimming pool, 6 x 12 meters, is situated in a breathtaking spot above the olive terraces, which extend over the hill. The terrace by the pool also has a place to eat outside. With tables and chairs, plus sun loungers and a covered pergola for shade. Slightly above the pool and under the olive trees is the Lavender Terrace with a seat, so there is plenty of space and privacy. The vineyard is located along a quiet road with cypresses. From the upper terrace there are several natural viewpoints with a view over the valley. There you can read a book, picnic and enjoy beautiful views. As the name implies, we have beautiful sunsets here with the rolling hills of Tuscany in the distance.
The guest terrace is a nice place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. With a cozy lounge area, barbecue, tables and chairs and a covered pergola. Directly opposite the apartments, with beautiful views over the valley and the Tuscan hills in the distance. There is also a new outdoor kitchen, for o. A. Cooking workshops with the guests. At least 10 people can be accommodated at the long table.
On the way to the swimming pool you will find the lavender terrace. In a beautiful location, surrounded by olive trees and overlooking the pool. Take time out by watching butterflies and countless little bees collecting nectar from the sweet-smelling lavender flowers.
The vineyard. We are on the last of the rolling hills of the Chianti region. We mainly grow Sangiovese grapes that produce about 300 liters of wine per year. More than enough to enjoy a few glasses while watching the sunset.
Casa del Tramonto is located in an ideal position to visit all the top destinations of Tuscany. In a quiet area, only 15 minutes from the A1 motorway (Florence-Rome). Places such as Arezzo, Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Val D'Orcia, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Cortona, Castiglione del Lago and Monte San Savino are all easily accessible by car.
The apartments are situated on a hill with beautiful views over the Tuscan hills. The building itself is reportedly a monastery dating back to the 14th century and restored with the original stones in the typical style of the region. The small hamlet in which Casa del Tramonto is located is less than 5 km. from the ancient city walls of Civitella in Val di Chiana.
Gebbia is a hamlet consisting of about 6 houses, with a small Italian community. For some of them the village is only their weekend stay. The local people are generous with their time and friendship. If you speak a little Italian, they will quickly involve you in a good conversation about the neighborhood and its habits.
The village can be reached via a road that runs through the forest from Civitella, with many sweet chestnut trees. Casa del Tramonto is situated in an idyllic setting, 500 meters above sea level. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, in the countryside, dotted with almond and fig trees. In the season, truffles and wild mushrooms can be found in the woods. The road from Civitella ends in the village, so there is very little traffic noise.
By car it is from Utrecht to Civitella over 1. 400 km, but there are also many guests who fly. To and from different airports, depending on the airline, so there is plenty of choice. From the Netherlands, the airports of Florence and Pisa are the most obvious.
