La Quercia Estate is a luxury home dating back to the 17th century, built entirely using ancient terracotta and stones. The villa was purchased in 1963 by the abstract painter Francesco Clemente, and his paintings can be admired inside the estate.
This villa is situated in Impruneta, just 1.5 km (half mile) from the center of the town, that is renowned for the terracotta production.
The villa is on a hillock that dominates the Chianti hills, and it is only 12 km (8 miles) from Florence.
This location is ideal, as it is also very close to some of the most renowned Tuscan towns such as Siena (40 miles), San Gimignano (30 miles), Lucca (54 miles) and Pisa (57 miles).
Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence is 10 miles from the villa, Peretola airport is 17 miles, and the motorway is 5 miles.
In the town of Impruneta, that is also reachable on foot with a 25 min walk, the guests can find everything they need for grocery shopping; there is a supermarket, a booth on Mon/Wed/Fri for fresh fruit and vegetables, a fish stall on Thursday, butcher shop, coffee shop, pastry shop, bakery, pharmacy, restaurants, and a bus service, that connects with Florence in 30 minutes.
Then, for the most active, Impruneta also boasts two tennis clay courts, a beautiful golf course, and a horse back riding club.
The paved road from the villa to the town is ideal to take walks or jogs in the early morning, or at sunset.
In front of the main entrance to the house, there is a beautiful loggia with dining table and wicker chairs, and a living area with bamboo furniture.
On the backside of the property, there is a centenary oak tree (La Quercia in Italian) under which there is an open-air dining area with a round table in stone, and another living area that is situated in front of a salt-water private swimming pool, surrounded by laurel and cypress hedges.

There is also sage, rosemary, mint and basil grown on the property, which is skirted by old oak woods.
