In the heart of Anacapri, a few minutes from the center and surrounded by greenery, Villa Mary offers the best solution for a stay on the island of Capri, a beautiful garden, a breathtaking view of Ischia.
Unspoiled nature just minutes from the glamor and sparkling Anacapri and Capri!
Welcome to our home and welcome to Anacapri,
We hope that you can spend a pleasant holiday and appreciate the peculiarities and hospitality of Villa Mary, a unique home in the pristine Anacapri.
Some historical mention, we have rebuilt the house from a ruin in the distant 1973, when this part of the island was only countryside, without connections to the center of Anacapri, if not the unpaved paths. In addition to the beauty of the place, we were struck by the coincidence that the old owners had our same surname and we had therefore felt our home from the first moment.
Despite the logistical difficulties, we fell in love with this part of the island that still preserves the stretches of unspoiled nature, immersed in the silence of the chirping of birds, with a unique exposure on the island of Ischia and a wonderful sunset, which in some days of particular visibility, makes us admire even the islands of Ponza and Ventotene.
We have had the opportunity to visit many places around the world, even and especially for business reasons, but our holidays have always had the home of Anacapri as a starting point and meeting of a very close family, surrounded by many friends and guests, in great joy.
Today many aspects of the island have changed, including the links with the center of Anacapri and with the most glamorous part of Capri, glamor and sparkling.
The choice of a stay in our home allows you to live a unique experience, to enjoy the tranquility and intimacy that characterizes it, or in just 20 minutes to immerse yourself in the much more lively life of Capri, easily reachable in 15 minutes by taxi or by bus, whose station is about 7 minutes from home.
In 20-30 minutes you can easily reach bathing establishments such as Il Faro or the Blue Grotto also by bus to Anacapri, in 30-40 minutes Marina Piccola or Marina Grande, in about 60 minutes the Faraglioni, to Capri.
We advise before moving to check the sea conditions from home, you can easily realize that part of the island is more sheltered, it is good to consider that you can find pebbly beach only in Marina Grande and Marina Piccola which are respectively north and south of the 'island. All other establishments have descents to the sea, the water is always deep and also very clean for this.
If you do not want to go to sea but rather take a walk, a few minutes walk from home, you can reach the Migliera lookout, with a wonderful view of the Punta Carena Lighthouse, the Green Cave, Marina Piccola and the famous Faraglioni. The Migliera belvedere is also a starting point for the paths that lead down to the Faro, and to Monte Solaro. The latter can also be reached from Anacapri with the chairlift departing from Piazza del Monumento.
If you decide to take this walk and you feel like walking, you will reach Mount Solaro with its 360 degree panoramic view of Mount Vesuvius and Naples, on the Sorrento and Amalfi coasts, on the Gauls, the Faraglioni, the marvelous bays of Capri, Ischia, and with the possibility of having an aperitif in what was "the Song of the Sun", you will still have the opportunity to return to Anacapri on foot, but remind your ladies that comfortable shoes for unpaved paths are always indispensable.
Here at home you will find several publications on other walks, all of us very dear to Anacapri or Capri, try to make some of them, because they reveal the true beauty of the island and allow you to enjoy its beauty in full.
If you have time and desire, know that for each driveway there is a pedestrian path, that the distances are contained and in some cases the movements can be faster on foot than by bus. For example, it is very fast and pleasant to walk down from Capri to Marina Grande or from Capri to Marina Piccola.
Otherwise, focus on the historic center of Anacapri, which is a place where you can still stroll through quiet squares and narrow streets colored by geraniums and bougainvillea. You will find a number of nice places to have an aperitif.
Do not miss Villa San Michele, realization of the Mediterranean dream of a doctor and writer from distant Sweden, and also the hermitage of Cetrella built in the fifteenth century on a veritable precipice overlooking the Marina Piccola.
You just have to wish you a wonderful holiday, if you have chosen Anacapri in Capri, you have already done a lot, show a sensitivity and a different motivation than many who arrive on the island to visit only the square.
